changes need to be made at the back. get Pearce out. he`s a bloody liability. the 3 rd goal yesterday being a prime example. watching the ball instead of the man he was supposed to be marking , giving him a free header inside the 6 yard box is unforgivable for a supposedly experienced international defender

Only changes likely are Mackie, Cox and Hector in and Cooper, Taylor and Blackman out.

Ferdinand and Williams are not fit enough to start yet.

I don't think five at the back would solve our problems. I thought it might be a good idea earlier in the season but Gunter isn't in good enough form right now. Maybe he'd improve with the formation change.

Blackman and Cox are our main threats, both should play. Balance Blackman against a defensive winger on the other side - probably Taylor but I wouldn't mind Mackie. Keep Cooper in. I'd quite like to see Williams play, but if not then let's use Hector, either in midfield or at right back, depending on Kelly's fitness.

Federici; Kelly/Hector, Pearce, Cooper, Obita; Williams/Hector, Norwood; Blackman, Cox, Taylor; Murray
Subs: Andersen, Hector/Ferdinand, Gunter, Kuhl, HRK, Mackie, Pogrebnyak

Feds is a great number 2, I never want him to leave the club but he's not a No 1 keeper. Yes he makes great saves and passes but makes too many errors, he isn't capable of coming for crosses and corners and he doesn't organise the defence. So I've dropped him for Anderson who did ok when he came in.
GK Anderson

Alex P wants to beat everyone with strength if he loses that battle he has nothing else to offer. He's slow and doesn't have the game sense to make up for his lack of pace. Adie and others keep talking Alex up but I think they are just kidding themselves. I'm dropping Alex.

Defence
DC Ferdinand or loan player, DC a Loan Player or Long, DR Shaun Cummings, DL Jordan Obita

I want Kuhl in not sure how to get him in. Maybe for Norwood.

Long is a right back. Cummings is injured.

And Federici was the first choice keeper in a Championship winning team, keeping 20 clean sheets in the process and in the words of Jason Roberts, almost won us the league single handedly.

Don't think the team selection matters too much, it's the idiot telling them what to do that is the problem. But in case anyone cares, the same team that beat Blackpool except anyone for HRK.

Playing with two wingbacks would at least provide Murray with some crosses to attack. The midfield lacks any width or pace with the players currently available. Not suggesting a permanent formation change.

Bluntly this squad is not good enough to play 4-4-2 home or away. We need to tighten at the back and at least draw games.

For me it would be

Fed

Gunter Pearce Cooper Obita

Hector (playing in front and protecting back 4 and he can pass). Would also allow Obita to get forward more to act as a wing back.

Norwood Akpan (unless Williams fit in which case him)

Mackie Murray Blackman

Had close to 200 votes on our Tilehurst End poll to pick the team.

http://thetilehurstend.sbnation.com/201 ... -the-squad

A real split over which two should start in the centre of the defence while I'm surprised so many want Williams in from the start given how little football he's played.
