Ian Royal Our defence is still riddled with individual and collective errors, but has improved

POTY

Did you see the goals we conceded in the last game?

We've conceded more comedy goals under Adkins than we've done in the entire 10 years prior.

Well your post made me laugh at least.

I won't be dragging my arse to the Madejski whilst NA remains in charge.

Looking at the attendances, I'm not alone. That is the problem. Diminishing attendances, short match threads on here, NA is doing nothing to engage, entertain or encourage our support.

Time for him to go....

Alternatively we could look at the last two halves we've played. We're seeing a marked improvement.

Those players are not playing for him! In almost 2 years they've mustered what one or two wins after going behind?

To me it seems clear he has lost the dressing room so I don't get why the board don't just bloody sack him now...Why let him do more damage? Each game lost is another ticked off. The opposition matters not these days, we fcuk all the games up.

If RFC set up a justgiving page to pay him off I'll happily donate.

That's the only reason I can think of as to why he hasn't already gone.

floyd__streete I am sure we'd all agree that with mystery new owners already making excuses and absolving themselves of any responsibility via message on Facebook in broken English and with the team displaying relegation form and conceding poor goals in every game (Alex Pearce was POTS when we won the title of this league under the previous management, what have Adkins and Crosby done with him?) we're going to do well to stay up this season.

Looking at the few teams below us in the table I'd say there are a number with a good chance of finishing well above us in the final reckoning. Wigan have a chink of hope and are Jew a few wins now they have MacKay, they have a strong squad for this league. Fulham have plenty of quality and you'd expect themselves to pull out of it. Brighton I'd expect the same. Bolton and Rotherham have managers who are frankly a nasty piece of work, exactly the sort of calibre we could do with at Reading.

Of the sides below us, I expect Huddersfield, Leeds, Millwall, Birmingham and Blackpool to join us in the bottom 6. We will need some help elsewhere; Huddersfield currently drawing at home. Leeds away to Blackburn today, a side in good form. Blackpool vs Bolton and Charlton vs Millwall represents two derby games. Rotherham face Birmingham. I have some hope that another damaging defeat yesterday might be negated somewhat today by some positive results for us at the bottom.

Yep, 'I am sure we'd all agree' with all you say as always Pretend-Floyd because you are such a hero......who knows, you might even get another Reading game in by January.

The initial responses to this thread were questioning floyds sanity. Three points off the bottom three and terrible form means we'll almost certainly be within sniffing distance by the new year, if we keep the orange twat in charge.
Our form is awful, 3rd worst defensive record in the division, unable to bounce back in games. Players publicly questioning his decisions.
Why do the board keep giving him time?
One of my mates is a wycombe fan, he's been reminding me of the 5-3 defeat to them about ten years ago, and saying it'll happen again next season. I fear he may be right...

I don't think we're in a relegation fight but we're probably at a crucial point of the season, a gap is starting to emerge between 12th and 13th, if we want to be in the top half of the league we'll ideally need to put a few results together or be cut away into the bottom half.

tbh if we dont get in the playoffs or go down it makes oxf*rd all difference if we finnish 21st or 7th. Is there even any differential prize money for where you finish in the champ?

I would always find it more secure to be in the top half of the league, otherwise you're constantly looking over your shoulder. I would imagine being higher up the league is better as a team as you can always have a positive look up at the playoffs, with outside hopes of getting there.

Para Handy Christ, Floyd you're becoming more tedious every year. If you don't want to support Reading anymore then I'm not sure why you don't just fuck off tbh. Oh, you have, you just need to keep telling us about it....

Didn't mention once in my post anything regarding attendance at games :| So I'll take your apology as implied.

Most others have taken the thread as an opportunity to discuss our prospects, you've come on and given it a load of attitude because you're sooooooooo alternative and edgy of course :!: Once again a regular on this site replying to the poster rather than the points raised.....you clearly have little or no developed sense of irony as you slate the intelligence of others in your post.

I agree with this. I'd also like to point out we played Bournemouth off the park in the first half at Dean Court but defending let us down in the second and they seized their chances.

I seem to recall sitting in Waitrose (Tilehurst) Car Park-listening to Dim Teller @ an away game castigating Brian McDermot & Readings chances of promotion; the season we were promoted-I think this was after Xmas (that season)-can anyone recall how far back we were from the front runners that season ?

After 18 games that season we were 2 losses in 12 and on the way up.
After 18 games this season we are 2 wins in 11 and on the way down.

First 6 games: 4 points.
Next 12 games: 20 points

First 7 games: 13 points
Next 11 games: 8 points

I think the above shows that after 18 games McDermott was in a far greater position than Adkins is now.

Clearly. I just thought our points/position after 18 games was a better comparison than a table showing where we were at the end of January.
