Happy with this - hopefully he will prove to be the striker Vydra needs to play up top with. Kermorgant getting in the goals would be a bonus but the real winner in this signing is if it plays in Vydra more (especially now he's hopefully got a boost from that hat trick).

Posted by a Cherry fan in their local paper.

So that is Brett and Yann (over 30 goals between them last season) gone and we end up keeping Murray.
If Yann had been given the amount of minutes Murray has had i am sure he would have proven himself a premier league player

Good signing to get the best out if vydra and get a few himself hopefully.

Cheap low risk effort.
7/10

It's a good bit of business, but does show just how shit an earlier bit of business was.

Player A, signed for 18 months for £0.5m
2014-15: 26(12) appearances - 15 goals, 9 assists
2013-14: 29(9) appearances - 14 goals, 1 assist
2012-13: 28(4) appearances - 12 goals, 8 assists

Player B, signed for 12 months for £2.5m
2014-15: 31(11) appearances - 16 goals, 5 assists
2012-13: 31(14) appearances - 22 goals, 6 assists

*Stats refer to Championship league games.

Not that fussed with this

May as well be another loan player considering his age. Not going to be part of future plans, leaves us in a bit of a Jason Roberts situation- Might be a short term benefit but leaves us trying to find and bed in a new striker when it really matters, rather than building a team now we can take into the Prem.

Considering our luck with injuries its worrying to see yet another old player on the books who is at risk of sitting out for long stretches.

Beer on Ian at the next game we both go to. Probably 2020 or something like that.

I know what you mean, but looking at clubs like ours, it feels like the strategies that work are to, a) get into the prem, by whichever means, then b) build a new team once there, like Watford have done.

If we made it up through the play offs, the money we would get would allow a team like Reading to raid most other leagues - look at Leicester with Kante, who turned down Marseille and Cabaye who left PSG

Would be a useful signing for any club that can cross a ball.

Great

Once upon a time I had faith in the guy,
But now it's time for him to depart
What can I say
He was totally shit from the start.

One thing to note is that he is cup tied having appeared against Birmingham in the 3rd round. If we do have another run our forward options may be limited should Sa go.

Limited to the players who scored 7 goals in the 2 FA cup games so far? Reckon I'll take that ;-)

Remember our Simod Cup triumph ?
Two relatively big name strikers (Moran and Whitehurst) unavailable for the entire run so we played plodding centre back Mick Tait up front each round and ended up winning the damn thing....
Anton, fancy going up front against Walsall ?

So player B has a better record, so not surprising he costs more.

Bournemuff fans very gutted on their forum, and whinging that we are being annoying and haven't realised how good a signing he is.

This reputation & reaction, combined with the raving report from the Bourney blogger that's currently up on The Tilehurst End site, has changed my outlook on this signing. Gone from a "meh" to a "yeah quite excited now."
