Sutekh If only we could create chances. Have to say Reading going forward in the second half was non existant between about the 50th minute and injury time.

Elsewhere sheff wed lost 2-1 to Brentford and derby held the mighty burton 0-0 so our false third position is maintained.

Now onto Saturday to see whether the team are good enough to get something on the south coast.

BTW, Huddersfield are us in 2011/12. Put £5 on them winning the league.

It'd be great if Huddersfield nicked 2nd spot off Brighton or Newcastle at the death. Neither team will want the play-offs and often we see teams suffering such heartbreak also wiltering in the play-offs.
We've done really well and we shouldn't be too disheartened by a very tough away game ending 1-0 to the opposition. The gap is now a lot to the top 2 and really this is about consolidating a play-off spot now, which is an over-achievement for this season.

Just remember how we all would have been happy with a top 10 position at the start of the season.

sandman To be expected really, on to another loss on Saturday.

Good job that the players and management have a positive attitude. Things have changed for the better since last season BTW.

Nothing to do with having a positive attitude, we're playing teams who are simply better than us.

Probably on wrong thread but the only team of the top 6 who seem to have an easy(er) game at the weekend is Noocassel

Let's not forget there are still 39 points to play for, by the way.

It's a big week in our season but it's by no means be-all and end-all.

This is true and probably why we won't be going up.

We find it really hard to beat the real power house teams in this division. I can't see us winning the play offs.

B*llocks. You are writing us off even before the players step on the pitch, simply based on the fact that Brighton are currently above us in the table!

And, of course, Lincoln will confirm you are always certain to lose when a team is above you in the table.

Seems to me you are still mourning the loss of our previous manager and want the wheels to fall off this season to 'prove' that the decision to get rid of him was wrong.

We've won 2/3 games against top 6 sides at home, Newcastle and Leeds still to play, it's our away form against the top 6 that is poor 3/3 defeats, Wednesday and Brighton to go.

Just seen the goal. a series of miskicks ended with the guy lashing it in from an angle. unlucky for us.

Stam was saying they weren't happy because the scorer left the field of play and then came back on (i think the implication being he would otherwise have been offside). Anyone seen what actually happened in the build up and how obvious or not that was.

Some decent comments on us by Huddersfield fans on their forums and on Twitter.

At least some Yorkshire clubs can stay gracious in victory.

Beat Brighton and the gap narrows considerably... I think Huddersfield will finish above us, but it's not inconceivable the pair of us could get 1st and 2nd.

If we can take 6 points off Brighton and the Geordies then you never know what could happen. We have players coming back from injury now bit by bit as well. It's going to be an interesting run in.

Brighton are wanted us to stop Huddersfield now they're taking the positives that it's now between 3 teams for 2 places.

Let's say, hypothetically that's true, how about we do our part on Saturday to make Brighton bottom of that trio
