Set piece takers

As Swift is out (and likely to be gone in the summer) who will be taking the set pieces (free kicks, corners from either side, penalties) on Friday and into next season (from those players we currently have or will have left)?

I know TInce takes corners and free kicks, Ovie takes corners, unfortunately Liam Moore is injured as he's taken free kicks in the past. Would Joao be back in penalties? Barker took set pieces in the U23 game he played so could be an option if on.

This season you seem to answer your own question.
Whatever the answer I’m sure we won’t be in the position of being awarded a free kick and having to decline it because we haven’t got anyone who can kick a dead ball....

Definitely seen both of them take set pieces.

Think Ejaria has maybe taken 1 or 2. Not sure on Hoilett.


I reckon if you gave Laurent a chance he'd jump at taking a direct freekick in shooting range. But is probably down the pecking order.

Can imagine our corners will be by our wide players. Direct free kicks though I'd imagine may be Ince, although I'm not sure who else would be a suitable taker of them.

Ince has apparently scored four free kicks in his career which isn’t bad. It’s not as good as Swift but it suggests he’s at least capable.

Certainly not many we've scored. Lots where we've shot.

Now that we've got a brand new squad I thought it would be worth reviving this thread as I was curious who our free kick, corner and penalty takers are likely to be now.

Savage looks to be on free kicks and corners though Carson takes corners too

Assume Knibbs will be on penalties as he was going to take the Carroll penalty plus scored on Tuesday
