Hound I’d very much doubt we’d consider selling either Joao or Puscas if there was no ability to reinvest that money

We’re not skint and needing the money. We’re just not allowed to spend more than a specific amount

Depends which way you spin it really. No we aren't in desperate need of cash, but we need to cut our losses and potentially selling 2 players that will be free agents this time next season (give or take) for a healthy £7m~ would probably be a good bit of business by the club, coupled together with Olise's £8m and that's £15m we've generated from 3 players with contracts expiring in 12 months time. Not to mention the likes of Swift, Baldock and Aluko that have all left in this time as well, who probably take up a fair percentage of our wage bill.

I'm not saying that is the case, as none of us really know, but it's just nice to speculate sometimes.

understand that talks are "progressing well" with defender Tom Holmes ahead of extending his stay at the club

Not cash that's the issue. It's reducing the club's losses to satisfy the EFL. Selling players for more than they are valued on the books at. May provide a route out of the current predicament sooner.

Alan Nixon is saying we cannot pay agents. If that's true, we're oxf*rd.

I suppose it’s good news but I’d rather it was Rino or Laurent.

It’s not true.
I don’t know who he Is but it’s easily checkable....
We are limited to paying ‘intermediary fees’ of 3% of a players basic gross salary.

Yeah correct he is, thought it was next season. Even still, the point is there still, it's a good bit of business to coup £15m roughly from 3 players as well as taking their (Puscas, Joao, Olise) wages off the wage bill which will be about £35k a week as well as Swift, Baldock and Aluko who were probably in the region of £75k a week as well. That in itself shows a good reduction.

I do find it amusing you're still trying to count the fee for a player we sold an entire season ago as savings.

You're relentless optimism is cute.

It’s a stretch calling 15m for Joao, Olise and Puscas good business either. Triple it and we might be about there

Didn’t he spend about an eternity arguing £8m for Olise was poor business a few weeks back?

The Olise fee is bad business if you group it with the Richards and Loader non-fees, and good business if you group it with hypothetical small fees for Joao and Puscas.

£20m for Olise, Long and Gylfi is good business. £8m for Olise, Richards, Swift, Little and Sidwell is bad business. Never mind that it’s the same £8m for Olise.

The initial tweet read:

I love the number 7

https://twitter.com/RashawnScott11/stat ... tSkiA&s=19

Which hints at him being given that squad number so you'd imagine he'd get a certain amount of game time

He's posted since to practically say he has signed a contract

It shows how desperate things are when one of our Academy boys is signing on professional terms and it’s being commented upon on here.

Does the Academy have internal squad numbers, because it would be a surprise if he got the prestigious 7 shirt for the first team, given his sole appearance is 20 minutes v Luton? Although everyone seems to want squad numbers these days rather than the traditional ones. McIntyre was 7 last season ffs. If he's genuinely taking that shirt it means Tom is changing...

Descriptions seems to suggest he's a left winger as well. Tbh, I can't say I remember him from the game.

Obviously promising at 19, formerly of Chelsea's Academy.

Any of our youth experts seen much of him and able to offer much info?

Halilovic was 7 last season so the number is available, perhaps Scott requested is as part of the deal - as we can't offer money any incentive will do

McIntyre has been 5 the past couple of seasons

Damnit, couldn’t remember checked a stat site, must have looked at the wrong number, I should have remembered Tom was 5, couldn't for the life think of 7. Ta
