Mr Angry First clean sheet for eons as well, and against the "champions elect"........ :D

Remember the trip to Champions Bradford for the 5-2 win
Sadly (fortunately ) a week before the fire so we have form (of sorts)

To think we didn't even have a shot on target yet we celebrated like we won the game at the end

Honestly, given that they’re a million points ahead of everyone and we are … well, shite I am happy to be celebrating that even if we hadn’t touched the ball more than once (being the obvious minimum)

Loved listening to his interview after, is it to early to say give him the job permanently? What have we got to lose ( I did originally want Mick McCarthy)

It is too early. But It's a very good first step.

Sutekh
Mid Sussex Royal Some unfamiliar names for Burnley today, including the keeper. Also no Zaroury.

And don’t you know it, the number of fans coming out and putting a downer on everything by saying it was only the Claret’s second string  you just can’t make some people happy!

Comment made pre game as a positive when I saw the Burnley team sheet, no way taking away anything from the performance.

Can anyone who had the guts to watch all of it tell me what, if anything other than luck, was different about this defence?

Is it that we had a more packed midfield and were using attack as our form of defence? Same personnel. What changed?

It was more organised, self-confident and proactive.

It was shielded from midfield better and had an outlet with Azeez and Kelvin E.

Knobbling their very good left winger early on and then the right one late on helped a lot.

Oh and we pressed much much higher from the front. Mostly as a unit. And because we had some pace that didnt hurt us as much as it would have with three slow CBs and high WBs.

Royal_jimmy Burnley weren't fully on it today .

How do you know?

They made six changes not there strongest line up. Which will set Warnock off on one.

We didn't have 3 centrebacks getting in each others way as well.....this was Sarrs best game I've seen.
NGW was brilliant next to Sarr as well. Holmes and Yiadom worked well also. And the pairing of centrebacks was good.
Lumley again made some great stops.....only downside today was Hendrick. I thought he was poor .

Really helpful thanks Ian.

Yeah so press higher, an outlet other than hoof, some attacking threayt, better midfield. Who'd have thought eh.

Yes, that was Sarr's best game for us.

We pressed better and higher up, but I was also impressed by Burnley's pressing: Hendrick once won the ball in our third and was immediately surrounded by FIVE Burnley players.
