Hound
URZZZZ
Hound Checked Hoilett’s stats, 2 assists in 2 years and 50 starts. None this season. I’m not too sure why he walks back into the team, esp as an attacking option

Since he’s joined, Ince has had 0 assists from open play. He has a reputation for being the “only one” who can create something, yet those figures suggest otherwise

He has chipped in with some goals and has whipped in some inviting corners but we’ve needed more from these two in terms of supplying the strikers. Hoilett has been poor since October and Ince poor since December, been one of the (many) reasons for our downfall

Yeah you mentioned the ince stats before which was a bit of a surprise but interesting

Who does create our assists from open play? Carroll must have a few. Azeez from set pieces

Maybe a big part of why we are where we are

Ince tops our assist charts with 5, all not from open play as has been mentioned.

Meite is then next best with 3, Carroll, Joao, Fornah, McIntyre, Azeez and Hutchinson then have 2.

Not bad to have a mixed bag of players on there rather than being over-reliant on individuals, but the numbers are especially low. Probably goes some way in supporting the argument that we suffer from a real lack of creative quality in our team, probably backed up by how we've played all season as well.

Surprisingly optimistic about our chances in this game if Huddersfield are to lose tonight.

Warnock's had to approach every game up to this point with an uphill struggle, must win mentality so the switch of emphasis to instead defending what they have could present opportunities.

Mentioned in a previous post but Cardiff managed numerous chances and had they been more clinical/arsed that game could have quite easily gone the other way, and, given Huddersfield give away an average of 60-70% possession most games(?) it'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

I personally envisage a lot of Huddersfield sitting deep but threatening on the counter and from set pieces, to which Carroll doubling up as a centre half will definitely help out, and opportunities for Hendrick to take more chances outside of the box as well as Casadei to do the same / look to create gaps.

Well it certainly ain't Jeff.

It's all solo, loose balls or set pieces I think.

Joao got the last one I remember... backheel to Carroll. Didn’t he do similar Casadei outside the box actually?

Play the kids and those few players who the club want to keep next year.

Well. Interesting team selection from Hunt for the last dead rubber.

Boyce-Clarke
Yiadom
Mbengue
Holmes
Sarr
McIntyre
Hendrick
Casadei
Hoilett
Azeez
Long

Lumley, Dann, Abrea, Abbey, NGW, Senga, Camara.

No Carroll.

That's a lot of defenders... Mbengue at fullback (which I don't like) and McIntyre in midfield presumably.

Interesting Long is playing, new contract in the offing?. No Kelvin E? NGW dropped - be odd not to extend him.

4-1-4-1?

.................Boyce-Clarke
Mbengue, Holmes, Sarr, Yiadom
.....................McIntyre
Azeez, Hendrick, Casadei, Hoilett
........................Long

Weird, very weird selection. Can understand Joao not being involved but no Carroll when he’s likely to be the only senior striker about the place next season?

But then with a new manager likely can’t see much point in whatever team is selected - unless new bloke is watching the game somewhere (Colin himself perhaps  ).

Rumour that Carroll simply didn't turn up.

Would've like to see a few more youngsters in the starting line up.

Bit of a weird one, shame no chance for Meite and Joao to sign off

But surprising Jeff is playing

Think Ehibhatiomhan is prob injured

That would seem to be odd given his recent social media posts.

Punishment for getting himself sent off and effectively ending our survival chances seems more likely.

Assuming we have to play Jeff and Casadei.

Yeh agreed, although sure it wouldn't be the first time a footballer's public posting didn't reflect their irl attitude.

One journalist suggested he had been carrying a knock as of late and that it didn’t make any sense to worsen it, which is more logical than that.

What happened to not believing everything you read?

Well that would make sense if he hasn't been selected for the matchday squad.

Saw that, but think its a pretty unreliable twitter source.

He's got a hernia problem and has been playing with injections last few weeks. No point him being involved today

Wasn’t directed at you, was more so that I have seen a lot of people instantly abusing him for it.
