Stranded Whore Jackie Snowflake Royal We don't really want another defender used to failure.
Find that an odd comment TBH. Ben Mee was an integral part of the Burnley defence, that came close to relegation in the 2 years prior to them actually getting relegated.
Moves to Brentford, new surroundings, new manager and amongst some pretty excellent candidates wins their supporters' POTS. To paraphrase the old stocks warning, past performance is no guarantee of future success.
It isn't but there is a difference adding a defender from a "losing" team into the defence of a "winning" one, that has confidence in its ability, to adding a defender from a team that has done badly into a defence that is already performing badly.
It is not guaranteed to go wrong but as confidence levels will be shot, there is a stronger chance it will.
Wouldn't disagree, but there's every chance that only Holmes and Yiadom are the defenders used to failure, if we bring in someone new to replace Sarr, a stronger left-back plus a new keeper. And a new managerial team, that will hopefully instil some organisation and confidence in whoever we retain and sign afresh.
It's going to be a very limited pool of players, if we're only targeting those accustomed to success.
