Loafer if more people watch womens football and it was a better standard then this would not happen

Money has ruined the game. An elite has been established. Then there's a chasm to the rest. Bridging the gap is beyond what the game can afford. Owners at the top are looking for a return on their money. Not investing out of charity.

I watched the woman’s cup final and Alex Scott said referring to the big crowd this is the normal now for woman’s football. Utter rubbish England and big games between big clubs yes. But the WSL is at best div 2. Even big spending Chelsea who have there own ground get about 3k hardly enough to cover Sam Kerr 60k a week. When I watch the WSL highlights Everton,Brighton,West Ham are playing in front of half empty grounds. In reality it’s really not as big as it likes to think it is.

Women's football was at it's height in the 1920s when club's ladies teams attracted just as many as the men (and these were days before political correctness and the internet played any part) it's partly what caused the ladies game to be banned as the FA were worried about it's popularity affecting the men's game

And it is those big games that I believe she was referring to.

Something tells me that JC is one of these people who get very angry at the mere existence of Alex Scott.

It's hard to see how the team will get to a better standard when they have just switched to semi-pro and so reduced the opportunities for improvement.

Great to see Charlie back but I wonder on what basis these players are joining. Semi-pro? It's not like the were paid a fortune when the team was professional.

That's a big and great move for her. At least she'll get decent support (financial and community/crowd wise) there. The owner paid somewhere between $2M-$5M just for the franchise. They've got a great stadium and facilities too.
