blythspartan Has anybody else seen tweets suggesting that Dai has been cleared of any financial wrongdoing in China and that although his company is currently suspended it is likely to resume in the future. Not sure if this could be better news for us or not.

I've done a quick Google search and there is a report dated today from Hong Kong confirming this to be the case.

Would imagine that it's good news for the club. The problems experienced with paying things might somehow be related to the suspension of his company.

Trading is still suspended because the investigation is ongoing, but it's been established that the current board, including Dai, were not involved in whatever went on. Yeah, it's good news but it looks like just a first step rather than a full resolution.

Apparently, the EFL have amended the points system as follows :

Lose … 0 points
Draw … 1 point
Win … 3 points
Win (by Reading) … 2 points

Saves all the shenanigans with charging, punishing and appealing

EFL and Morecambe have reached an agreement on a suspended 3pt penalty for being late with wages once and must pay 125% into a designated account to avoid a repeat.

Seems they are looking to get tough on clubs missing wages.

It is due today - so are you saying you have heard it will be paid today or just that is is due today but no idea if it will be paid?

Just that it`s due, in the fullness of time we will find out if it`s paid or not.

Cool - this is where "Who Moved the Goalposts?" comes in handy, was first with the news of non-payment last month.

Just in time for deadline day embargo if they miss it again. Guess we'll find out soon.

WMTG and Earnshaw were pretty early reporting this last month so I am hoping no news is good news. Also, the club are holding the open training session today so I am trying to view that as a positive. Plus, surely the tax bill must be much lower for July than it was for June.

Every company in the UK's PAYE for July is due today. Its 22nd of the month.

The Chronicle reported this on 26th last month so we should know by the end of the week if we haven't paid

Been claimed on Twitter that tax was paid today, which, if correct, means it is a day late but that we avoid an embargo going into the last week of the window.

Yep good news but also suggested finding the 125% wages is difficult

Players sales *could* fix this but bit of an assumption to think anyone will want to pay money for our lot

Did wonder what we’d do if some club took a fancy to the likes of Abbey or Ehibhatiomhan and gave us a lowish offer (say £1m) which would pay the bill but would be bloody annoying at the same time

I think we'd probably need to sell, more so with Abbey than Kelv as we're shorter upfront than in defence.

We'd probably refuse and find ourselves in Admin 6 weeks later.

So if the wages are paid on time but the owner hasn't deposited the extra 25% could the suspended 3 points deduction be activated?

This fella is claiming that the tax bill has been paid, but Dai is struggling to cover 125% of wages. Not sure how reliable he is tbh.

We have to deposit 125% of the monthly wage bill into an account and leave it there. It is not there to pay wages, unless we can't or don't pay them through the regular process.
