Not especially sure what this extra 2 points is meant to achieve but it is what it is

Will at least focus the minds again. Felt on Saturday that the team were a bit complacent, as were the fans. Also there was very little anti-dai which will kick back up again

Oh well, look on the bright side, no more 16th minute protests.

Good old Micah (are you here) talking about another pitch invasion, one of the replies was "what does the extra 3 point deduction matter? we`re down anyway"
You could make this shit up!!!

F*cking EFL - they seem to deliberately string out the process and hit us at the last moment. IMO their claims to care about the club are absolute crap. They are very definitely not fit for purpose. Football doesn't just have an ownership problem, it clearly also has a governance problem.

Doubtless the EFL will claim it's down to an 'Independent Commission' but that Commission can only operate within EFL rules and guidelines.

Could it be that the players had already been made aware of the incoming points deduction prior to the game and that adversely affected their performance?

Telegraph reporting its 2 with 2 suspended and Dai given another 100k fine that he won't pay.

The suspended may help as the players know they will need to bust a gut as it may well happen - last suspended penalty was triggered almost immediately.

Oh no.

I wonder if fans will start turning on Dai now.

One of the ones I always see on Twitter that definitely annoys me. Only an idiot would go on the pitch at this point, point was made against Port Vale, we're still in a strong position to stay up if the deduction happens, no point jeopardising that.

Presumably the suspended 2 are triggered if we fail to pay HMRC, and not Dai's fine? We all know he won't pay.

They have to look after "the integrity" of their competition, so that "everyone is on a level playing field."

Ignore the three teams in the league above who have more money and higher wage bills than everyone else.

Is it time to regularise punishments and so do away with independent panels in order to bring swift and consistent outcomes ?

By that in this case I mean at the start of the season the EFL clubs agree what the punishment should be if a club breaks the 100 day rule and all clubs that breach the rule receive that punishment immediately. As far as it seems to me the panel can decide on a punishment depending on what mood the members are in.

I'll be interested to read the ruling and what the EFL were pushing for. If we got 2, my guess is they wanted 4 or 6.

Hopefully doesn't impact takeover. What's worse, an open charge with an unknown outcome, or 2 points?

They've hit us with pretty much the bare minimum deduction possible, short of a suspended deduction. For repeated and excessive failure to pay tax on time, isn’t it?

We're still 3 points outside the relegation zone.

It's entirely fair, and it's about the minimum they could have done without just waving the flag to all clubs to stop paying tax.

I was expecting 3/4 suspended, which could easily have been triggered.

We're playing well enough it shouldn't sink us. And actually comes at a good time to renew our determination and keep fighting.

Is this another first for the club? The first club to ever be hit with a points deduction for LATE payment of tax?

Whilst I don't fully disagree, there already was a clear penalty in the books for cumulative delays in payment which included tax - that was the punishment where you cannot pay a fee of any kind for a player for 3 transfer windows. I'm intrigued to see the rationale for this additional penalty given that exists, though I don't disagree with it.
