katweslowski What really drives me mad is hearing commentators saying the following - after about 3 replays showing it was a brush on the shoulder:

"Contact was minimal there"

No, there was no oxf*rd contact you arsewipe

This is a big bugbear of mine. Commentators and experts, especially ex players should, imo, be highlighting play acting not supporting it. It has sadly become the norm that people think a slight touch warrants a foul.

Alan Shearer et al - "there's definitely contact, so he's entitled to go down"

But that's true, isn't it? Penalties are so valuable of course players are going to try and win them. If Knibbs buys us a penalty against Wrexham or in another game, good on him.

If you really wanted to change mindset, introduce 2 tiers of foul in the penalty area, and genuine attempts to win the ball result in an indirectly free kick. Penalties for more cynical fouls. Of course it won't happen.

When did football become a non-contact sport then? Any contact in the penalty area and you can throw yourself to the ground?

Amen.

Diving and engineered contact can go oxf*rd itself.

Hated Smith constantly throwing himself.on the floor for nothing.

Try and win a penalty by putting a defender in a situation where their only choices are to foul you or let you through on goal - fine. Run past a defender then hook your trailing foot against his leg and throw yourself to the floor - oxf*rd off.

When the crooked Frenchman took over as head of UEFA and pushed his agenda.
