Snowflake Royal Looking it up, perhaps a bit harsh on our signings.

Left in 2020/21 (That long ago!?)

Transfers in
Laurent, Ejaria (turned out a bit disastrously, but hard to predict), Camara, Onen, Luzon

Loans in
Gibson, Semedo, Esteves

So only really Ejaria competing for Holsgrove's position.

Wiki has Holsgrove as sold for undisclosed, rather than released. Believe as you will.

It was September 2020 when he left after looking really quite good in preseason but then the club had Swift, Ejaria and Laurent and Paunovich was giving everyone the false dawn at the time so he was never going to get a chance of the 1st team.

I seem to remember he came out to pretty much nowhere (but like Garcia and Kanu) to play a big role in preseason, scored a great free kick and I think we all thought he might make an impact for us

I think he was quite keen to go abroad and we probably didn’t hold him back too much. At the time I was a bit disappointed as there was some ability there

Nice to see him doing well. Tbf looking at his stats he only really seems to have got going in the last couple of years - he’s not far off being 26 so I doubt many teams in the uk would have had the patience to stay with him for that long

Yep, one thing this club has always been good at is letting young players move on if they're not likely to get game time because of competition for places. It's a very fair and enlightened thing to do - unlike other clubs who will hang onto players and either send them out on pointless loans at lower levels or have them rotting in the reserves. Michail Antonio is another perfect example.

It's one of the differentiators that's noticed and appreciated by young players and their parents when deciding which Academy to sign for.

Should have had 4 already if it’s a thing… Reading to Celta Vigo, Celta Vigo to Pacos de Ferreira, Pacos de Ferreira to Olympiacos and Olympiacos to Estoril.

Selles getting his boys to perform after cancelling their end of season bash. Just got to keep a clean sheet now and they’re safe and Luton drop into the plop again.

The local media in Hull seem less than convinced that Selles will see the week out....

Rumour is Tony Mowbray to replace him.

Not the end of the world for him. Hull are a basket case and a candidate to be the next Reading FC. He took over with them in the relegation zone and kept them up, so will leave with his reputation in tact and will probably get another decent opportunity soon. Maybe it'll prove to be a let off instead of tethering himself to that dick of an owner.

It always seemed an odd move for him to go there - out of the frying pan into the fire sprang to mind when he left. If I were him, I would probably leave before I was pushed because, I'm sure, if Hull start next season badly that he will get the sack pretty quickly.

Better pay, more security of getting paid, higher level. And safe in the knowledge if it doesn’t work out he gets his contract paid up.

Virtually no manager walks without something to go to, when they can stay to be sacked and get their contract paid up, often in full.

He'll be fine. Good record here. Mission accomplished there.

Tyler Bindon says goodbye on Instagram:

To the staff, players, fans, and everyone connected to the club, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Without you all, there would be no club. You have shown incredible strength through tough times, and I truly hope brighter days are now ahead.

It has been an absolute honour to call myself a Royal for the past two years. I’ve loved every moment and every connection made. The memories will stay with me forever.

I will miss you all. Thank you for everything.

Lovely stuff Tyler, and there’s not a soul in Reading who would wish you anything less than the very best and the most successful career ahead of you.

Absolutely, every once in a while a player rocks up who is going to be something special and we just have to be thankful for the time they have had with us. I can see Bindon getting some good game time with Forest if they manage to qualify for any of the European competitions and from there who knows?
I can recall watching Kerry Dixon play for the ressies before he made his 1st team debut and I said to a mate that he wouldn’t be with us long.

Yes, he started too. It's just because I've watched more of the three above that I missed him being ex-Reading
