From Couhig's October Q&A - https://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/2025/o ... a-session/

Jack Marriott was not available until the day we signed him

Now, what "available" means is possibly open for interpretation but we must have been notified immediately plus he was happy to come here so all's well that ends well

Ritchie I believe was waiting for a champ club. Marriotts not played since ‘22 and couldn’t get in a L1 team last year

stealthpapes First, the squad coming together/formation settling down took time. Carroll started first two games, slipped to the bench, and only left at the end of the window. Hutchison was still playing until Shrewsbury. McIntyre and NGW both played > 10 games.

Really odd looking at the team that started the 2023-24 season against Peterborough (and Port Vale, save for Button replacing Bouzanis) and how different it ended up being to the team we had for most of that season:
Bouzanis
Yiadom - Holmes - McIntyre - Guinness-Walker
Azeez - Hutchinson - Savage - Knibbs
Ehibhatiomhan - Carroll

Only the players in bold played more than a quarter of league minutes that season. We hadn't signed Bindon; Button; Elliott; Mukairu; Ballard; Mola; or Pereira until after the Peterborough match.

Hound Oh no, not Kyeweera. He was terrible on Tues and hasn’t been much good all season. He isn’t even that quick or exciting. If we’re keeping Kelv as a 9 (don’t mind that) then I think I’d rather shove Doyle RW or promote JOP or something

JOP

You really don't like him, do you.

I'd put Abrefa, Ahmed or Yiadom RW ahead of JOP.

Please excuse my ignorance - who is JOP?

Just seen who it is after tonight's U21 team popped up!

Has anyone looked at what our record and points look like if Lane takes his chances and scores those goals? I think it's 4-5 points more. Would be a totally different conversation and not that different. He's got himself in some great spaces and I think will come good with a little more time & luck.

That's the fine margins of football and the difference between us being seventeenth and eighth. Would be great for him to score this afternoon.

Misses were one at Exeter and two at Cardiff right?

Score at Exeter, we win. +2 points.
Score one of the two at Cardiff, we at least draw +1 point, maybe win depending on timing.. or both we win +3 points.
So +3 or +5

+3 puts us joint 11th on points and GD.
+5 puts us 9th.

Not really how football works though is it? And likewise what about if Northampton get that penalty, Exeter score the free header from 6 yards, that Mansfield shot bounces off the bar and goes the other side of the line etc

We’re where we deserve to be

As expected. Interesting to see Tuma straight back in the squad. Not seen a lot of him considering he’s been knocking about for a few years now

Hope Lane has remembered his shooting boots, he’s actually played well in the last 2/3 games and deserves to find the net.

Haven’t won 2 successive home league games since last December (Northampton & Mansfield) so today could be opportune. :?

Wellll this isn't going so well for us today - but it's been a lonnnngg time my lovvelies !

Thirteen minutes in and noooo goals...

....bottom of the league within reaching distance....

....time for a new leader, a fearless leader and maybe one with less hair...

Do You See...
