Results wise LR has done ok. No complaints on 10 from 6

We’ve not been a good watch but there may be good reasons for it

He is a more direct manager, and we really don’t have the players to do that successfully for any period of time.

A couple of astute signings in Jan and we might be a lot better off. Don’t have to be amazing players, just ones that suit the style. Big, physical and energetic.

Today’s result was magic. We’d had a very favourable run of games since Leam came in and today was always going to be his biggest test. He passed with flying colours. What I liked was Charlie savage did a post match interview where he said Stockport line up shook us. And it showed, they were the better team for the first 15. Usually they play 3 at the back - they went with 4, and put a man on both wing and savage. Queue the usual Pereira ‘injury’ but this time on 15 mins. Leam called the team over and made changes to adapt to the unexpected line up. This to me is very encouraging and not something I ever would have expected hunt to have done. No plan B for hunt. Encouraging, shows he has some tactical nouse.

So you admit that your statement of: "Should never have been appointed." ... was a bit off?

Incidentally, the sham injury was at 9 minute mark ... and, yes, LR did a very good job of responding to it that NH wouldn't have done.

I’m still not sold he’s the right man. But things are going well atm. And I’ve already said I hope I’m wrong…

Look I’m a reading fc fan and have been since the early 90’s I want the club to do well. I don’t want to revel in the clubs demise. I want couhig and Leam to be a success. Just like everyone else. I hope I’m wrong. I want to be wrong. I want to come on here and say yeah I got it wrong.

People have hunches and they often turn out to be wrong, no biggie. Noone has a crystal ball.

Spot on re: LR's ad lib reading of the game and appopriate timely reactions. I mentioned on the match thread a few mins after that we were playing noticeably better after their little huddle.

An absolute key element of a good manager, if not the most important.

Tbf (and I was happy with LR coming in) it’s still fairly early days and a big job still to do. But it’s been a great start
