[Brogue]

Might need some help with date of births but the squad rules state we can only have 22 registered outfield players over the age of 24 - players born before 1st January 2004

As I say I’m not sure of date of births but from my reckoning we have 24 players now over 24.

MoM going back but I think he’s classed as an u21

If Elliott is out for the season perhaps we can de- register him but I’m not sure if we can de- register players mid season if they haven’t left the club, anyone know?

Perhaps others can confirm but basically we are very close to, if not over the maximum number of registered players. So if we don’t start shipping out some over 24’s I’m not sure how many more could come in…

No, I think you were right. We can remove Elliott from the squad as he's out for the season anyway, so that's one. I agree with you that the 3 most likely candidates for a loan or sale are probably Stickland, Abrefa and Camara.

If we do delist Elliott, then we only need one of those to go, unless we plan to bring in any more over the age limit.

You list 13 players over 24, not sure where Brogue got the other 11 from or have I misread his post?

The rules are twenty-two players over the age of twenty-one (on 1st January prior to the season, so 2025, IIRC) too in League One, unless that's changed recently.

Ok, so Brogue mean to write U21 but had the number 24 in his head. Which brings it back to his original point, that (if I’m reading Sutekh’s list correctly), there are 25 players aged 22 or more.

I presume it’s not an issue because of the other rule Clyde mentions - some (all?) of the six 22-year-olds were 21 on 1 Jan 2025.

I remember hearing/seeing that the over U24s limit excludes Goalkeepers for L1&L2 teams, so another 2 off the list.

Based on the rules of the EFL, it appears we can have more than twenty-two 'older' players. We simply need to register twenty-two who can play in league matches - so if Ben Elliott is injured for the season, he wouldn't be registered for example. I imagine Rushesha would be one who wouldn't be registered if we signed an additional player too.
