Didcot Town - A Thank You

by Casual Royal » 16 Jul 2006 19:24

I can confirm that the attendance on Friday evening was 2571 which is the capacity and record attendance at Didcot Town FC.

On behalf of everybody at Didcot Town they have asked me to pass on their thanks for the excellent behaviour of the Reading supporters and the club hope you all enjoyed your visit to the loop meadow stadium.

I went last year and thoroughly enjoyed it, the ground the fans mixing and the atmopshere. I wasn't there this year but it sounds even more successful. Perhaps this should be a yearly thing?

It looks that way , as long as the two clubs bulid their realationship the fixture will happen every year.

I hope so, as im sure do many royals. Lets hope both club officials get together and take both sets of fans opinions into account and strike something together.

It's better at their place because it's got a nice feel to it aswell. Non-league ground, local atmosphere. Can't beat it!

'greed with all the above. It's a smashing little club.

Makes you wonder why you pay £30 odd to sit in an out of town stadium with little atmosphere TBF. Oh to be back on the terraces.

Good man. I live 5 mins walk from the ground, and I can confirm what a top little club it is. With the prospect of me not getting an RFC season ticket growing stronger, I'm going to make more of an effort to follow DTFC.

Youngs kids. Missed 6 home games last year. Most ever in a season since I started going in 1983/84. Of course, I will still go to 70% of RFC games, but when I can leave the house at 2.50pm and still see live footie on Saturday then it makes sense. I'll be back as an ST soon.....

I think everyone who wants to stand up at the Mad Stad should go and support Didcot Town.

I think everyone who is against standing at the Madstad should go to a real morgue on Saturdays instead.

Are there any plans for a pre-season friendly there?
