Why, there is more stability a Reading.

Leicester have changed their manager more than babies have their nappies changed.

People's perception of Reading will change over night. Sadly that also means bums coming here for the money as well. I hope we remain picky about who comes in.

Sharp would be an excellent start. Always looks a little heavy though, and we'll need to wrap him up in cotten wool with his past injuries.

Big Ern No disrespect to Doncaster, but maybe he likes being a big fish in a small pond and he seems to have done better at the smaller clubs. If he signs, I hope to be wrong.

The Usual Belmonts He'll be fine at Reading then.

We have a bright new future ahead now - we can now attract a much higher calibre of striker to get no service from midfield.

Interesting that all the statements are about limited funds being available to strengthen in January. A way of managing the expectations of how much money we have available? Smoke and mirrors?

If the rumours about his release clause being £3m are true, I can't see it happening. Much in the same way that I think Rhodes is still going to be too expensive. I could see us spending £2m on Sharp, or someone with a similar pedigree. But I don't expect to see us spending more than £3m total and reckon it'll be less.

The advantage we have is that we ought to be able to put the majority of money upfront from what we know. This is something the majority of clubs can't / don't do. Add that to our general good friendly place reputation and maybe we can be first choice to sign for.

That and to try and stop clubs upping their evaluations when we show interest.

Isn't it £1.85m?

Depends who you believe. Article in a paper quoting the manager / chairman saying it's £3m. Random poster on HNA saying it's £1.82m

Nope, limited as in not the full amount that TSI are looking to invest when the deal is complete, I'd imagine limited to the amount that Brian and Nicky need to do the deals they want

Not seen that article before. So now we have one media firms saying £1.82m and one saying £3m. Still depends who you believe really.

Even the Guardian is running with the Billy Sharp rumour...

At the end of today's "Rumour Mill";

Reading owner Sir John Madejski will spend some of the funds provided by investor and Russian sugar-daddy Anton Zingarevich on Doncaster's Billy Sharp, who has been offered a new contract by Rovers amid interest from Leicester City ...

Doesn't make it more true but more people are reporting on it...

If Billy Sharp is not injury prone then I'd 100% take him. But I'm sure we could get someone better. Either way it's all positive talk. Brian will pull out a player, that we've all heard of but nobody will have considered. That or we get some SH*T HOT RUSSIAN

This is a direct quote from the Donny chairman:

'I don't know whether we can keep Billy here,' said Ryan. 'There has been a lot of loose talk and idle chatter surrounding the lad, so I want to set the record straight once and for all.
'When the window opens on January 1, Billy's contract with Doncaster Rovers will include a release clause priced at exactly £3m.
'Lots of clubs are circling. Southampton and Ipswich made previous bids. Anybody who matches that new figure can talk to Billy.
'Obviously, we don’t want to lose the lad at this vital stage when we are fighting to retain our Championship status.
'I've given my word to Billy, though. We have a gentlemen's agreement and any final decision on a move is down to Billy himself.'
