Not quite sure how rule 3.1 (which is what Selles was done under) has to do with kicking the ball away. Was NH behaving improperly towards the officials before kicking the ball away?
FA Rule E3.1 states:
"A Participant shall at all times act in the best interests of the game and shall not act in any manner which is improper or brings the game into disrepute or use any one, or a combination of, violent conduct, serious foul play, threatening, abusive, indecent or insulting words or behaviour."
Key Elements of Rule E3.1
Best Interests of the Game: Participants must prioritize the integrity and reputation of football in all their actions.
Improper Conduct: Any behavior that is deemed improper or that could damage the game's reputation is prohibited.
Types of Misconduct: The rule explicitly mentions various forms of misconduct, including:
Violent Conduct: Any physical aggression towards others.
Serious Foul Play: Actions that are dangerous or reckless during play.
Threatening, Abusive, Indecent, or Insulting Words or Behavior: This includes any form of verbal abuse or inappropriate comments.

It literally describes what happened in the article.
I know but I don’t see how kicking the ball away falls under any of the elements listed. When players do it they get yellow cards.
