Maybe I should get SLAMMED on the back. Then again, I don't think I've made too many friends on here.

Ian Royal If you're getting a player name. Make sure it's one you'll like no matter where he goes after us and who has made a real contribution to us.

Or choose someone who no longer plays for us already, but has legend status.

exactly why i was gonna go for church, because i always watch him for wales and is the only one there that is my nationality plus hes come through the academy and is one for the future.

Ian Royal Personally I think getting your own name is the sad thing.

its a kinda 'i wish' thing.

Ian Royal Interesting to see no 5.

Oh and 24 is missing too. That probably doesn't tell us as much. High chance of 10 and 23 leaving too. Maybe we're waiting for SHunt to go before we bid high enough for Smith so he can have number 10.

We've retired the No. 5 - as a result of Martin Hicks' knighthood.

What do you mean, you haven't heard?

When and why were squad numbers introduced? I used to be quite happy with numbers 1 to 11, in fact I am such an old git that when I first started going goalies didn`t even wear number 1.

Does anyone else think that Shane Long looks like hes been enjoying a few pies over the Summer?

Considering hes a 22 yr old (?) professional athlete I would consider him to look in better shape than he does in the new shirt gallery.

Anyway he did have a marked improvement towards the end of season hopefully that can continue but I think we will need another Centre-Forward.

Congrats Shane. Good on him. Hope he delivers consistently through next season as he did towards the end of the season just gone. I think he will.
