As posted on a different thread.

Sky have reported that the play off dates will not be affected by the QPR hearing, read into that what you want.

the guardian Who will decide QPR's fate?
The four-person tribunal is comprised of a QC, two further legal counsels and a football representative (typically a former player or manager). The FA has said it will not reveal their identities.

Who is representing QPR?
QPR's case is being presented by Ian Mill QC of Blackstone Chambers, a hugely respected sports lawyer who has acted in a string of high-profile cases. He has acted for just about every sports governing body, Chelsea, Formula One teams McLaren and Williams, plus individuals such as David Beckham, Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis. It was he who won Sheffield United their £26.5m compensation payment and he has also served on FA disciplinary panels in the past.

I have a feeling that hiring the guy who got Sheff Utd their payoyut will see them through...

SymonsO Decent article in the Guardian summarising a few points.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011 ... -questions

Good article!

Good to have a few facts inbetween the hysteria of people rubbing their hands with glee at the thought of punishing QPR.

If they're guilty, of course, but everything I read is just speculating about their punishment.

Rumour is they are getting a 5 point deduction and a fine. So no effect on the play offs.

Really sorry if this has already been covered but how many points did QPR secure with Alejandro Faurlín playing (starting or subbed)?

Surely the deduction, if one is applied, has to be AT LEAST that?

QPR fan in the office is looking happier. Seems twitter is all over them getting off without censure.

If it's only 5 points - can't the rest of the top 7 in the Championship club together and sue their @rses.

Just seen this posted on Twitter, The Guardian have also reported on the statement, confirming the dates will remain as they are!

The Press Association have received confirmation that despite Queens Park Rangers' ongoing hearing that could potentially lead to a points deduction, the 2011 npower Championship Play Off Semi Final dates and that of the Final itself will remain unchanged. This, despite a possibility of a points deduction leading the London based side, managed by former Sheffield Utd boss Neil Warnock, into the play off positions.

That Friday Feeling ENQUIRY UPDATE: The Independent Regulatory Commission has announced that a decision will now not happen before 4pm on Friday 6th May

You beat me to it. The plot thickens - if they are only going to get a rap over the knuckles then why delay the announcement - until Sunday it is rumoured.

They should just keep QPR in the championship and promote the 2 playoff finalists as well as Norwich.

If the decision was unfavourable as far as QPR were concerned (ie. a points deduction effectively relegating them into league 1) would it not make sense to delay any such announcement until after Saturday and QPR's home game with Leeds which in itself would have a significant bearing on the play-off's???

No. Play offs go ahead as planned.

Make of that what you will.

Suggests a no impact decision on the play -off contenders. So either they go up or are denied promotion full stop. None the wiser really!
