BREAKING: Reading are delighted to announce that @TariqeFosu has penned a new two-year deal! http://rdng.co/Fosusign

Probably as a result of the current low ebb of where the club is, but I am very pleased about that. It is even more gutting when a promising Under 21 leaves (such as Ikpeazu) rather than an older player such as Karacan (who you cannot blame wanting more money).

I hope Fosu gets his chance.

Just watched the clip on the OS and fook me Fosu's got a decent shot on him. Keeping him here is great news. A good week for RFC - been a long time since I thought that.

All signings are waiting for the kit I posted in club policies to be finally ready so they can be unveiled in them etc.

Fosu has penned a 2 year deal so he's got 2 years to show his potential here. And if he does brilliantly next season we'll all be anxious this time next year to sign him up for longer...

Pretty much the same deal as Hector I expect. Do well next season and they'll give him a proper contract.

Rollerbob
Snowball Sa and Pog up front with Cox and Samuels as back up is not at all bad for the Championship

A full uninjured season from Pog and he ought to get 12-16 goals.

Sa, if he trains hard, gets a full uninjured season, and doesn't have issues, could threaten the league top-scorer spots.

Awfully random speculation here.

:D

As opposed to the industrial quantities of unsubstantiated, "awfully random" utter wrist slitting shite plastered all over this thread that renders it barely worth reading :|

..Samuel, if he works hard, says fit and becomes world class could score over 30 goals this season.

Don't be a dork. Samuels is a PROSPECT, and has scored a few goals at a lower level. He MAY, one day, be special. But to be special for RFC next season he will need to develop and improve a fair bit.

Sa, OTOH, has played at this level, and higher, has scored some cracking goals, has been getting a goal every 122 minutes, and (presuming he IS coming in) is being brought in, read-to-roll, full of experience, and at the peak age for a striker. It's more than logical to think he should be good for 20 goals, and if he IS good for twenty goals, then "threatening the league top-scorer spots" is reasonable.

I doubt if he'll be more than 20-1, and You'll probably get 100 to 150-1 for Samuels.

As for Pog. The manager likes him, he has shown ability and goal-scoring, but spends far too much time in midfield/wide. That can be addressed this season, esp if we have a settle "starting two". Add to this, he seems really up for it for the coming season, and will be playing for a new contract, either with RFC or some other team.

f he stays, iInjuries excepted, I expect Pog to have his best-ever season for us. Again, while there may be a healthy dose of optimism in the two scenarios, (Sa and Pog) but I don't think either (and both) are far-fetched.

Pog only played 1,617 (out of a maximum 4324) league minutes last season for his six goals. If he plays twice as many minutes (still only 75% of maximum) it's perfectly reasonable to expect 12 goals or thereabouts.

But personally, with a settled side playing exactly as the manager wants, it's more than likely Pog's hit rate will be higher, hence "12-16 goals"

I have a feeling that next year goals won't be the problem

That makes a big difference.

With less letters to carry he may score more goals

Possible more signings after July 1 as most contracts end June 30. Then players free to sign.

Yeah, great move. I'm a little less sad to see him go than Fed or, particularly, Pearce but still a very good and incredibly important player over the years.

Hope he has a very successful time there.

Personally, out of the three I'm most gutted to see Jem go. I know he hasn't played much but I was always a fan. Him and Pearce were the closest to a "Mr Reading" we had in the team... I understand we are going through a necessary complete rebuild but it may take a while for me to identify with the team as a fan!
