We've looked shit since Clarke has switched to this more offensive formation, we looked great in the 4-5-1/4-3-3 with 3 central midfielder so why does he persist with this 1 behind the striker?

While as before the international break probably killed our momentum, this international break couldn't have come at a better time.

Yeah Morro, no way was that a free kick all you did was have your hands round his throat.

CountryRoyal Are you oxf*rd serious Clarke?! Bringing on Liburd in a game like this?

"Oh how was your debut?"

"I didn't touch the ball and we got dicked. Thanks."

Have to agree there, stupid time to give him his debut.

Why does it matter when he makes his debut? He's got to make it at some point, the state of the game shouldn't matter to him.

need to be more defensive, we have fantastic strikers/wingers, but trying to play too many of them isn't working. Need 3 midfielders in my view as earlier in the season we were playing Norwood, Williams and Quinn and we were controlling games.

Fancy bringing on the only striker on your bench when you're chasing the game

Dear Michael Hector,

As the Arctic Monkeys once said, don't believe the hype.

We've been very poor yet contrived to make a handful of chances that Marshall has saved well, but that doesn't mean it's been otherwise even or that we're unlucky to lose. We thoroughly deserved to lose that.

Let's hope Clarke finally realises he needs to go back to what was working and we get Quinn and Tish fit whilst there's a break.

During our good run, we played some of the best stuff I've seen and looked genuine title contenders. Everyone seemed to be thinking two or three passes ahead and there was zip, flair and solidity. Now we look slow, tentative and disorganised.

Will reserve judgement on whether this result is all down to the brilliance of Marshall or some shyte shooting from our players, until I hear from those back from the game or see footage of 6+ class saves. With 10 shots on target I would have thought that you should manage to beat the keeper, no matter how good, with one or two.

Marshall played well and made some quality saves... but we simply weren't good enough and this was a really poor Cardiff side apart from him.

Marshall was great but we still deserved to lose, just not dangerous enough and defensively poor. Not a great combination if you want to win matches.

Hector was particularly poor.

Hopefully the break will do them some good.

It was otherwise even. We got done on a couple of set plays but otherwise created more than Cardiff and the balance of play was about as even as you get.

Norwood best Reading player on show IMHO.

Clarke was right to drop Obita for Taylor because he was dire against Huddersfield from what I heard, but Cooper should be picked ahead of Hector now no doubt about it.

5 games without a win now.

If we don't beat Bolton at home in our next game then serious questions will start being asked of Steve Clarke!

During the course of a season. Come on Ian, don't make me say it.

The point being Clarke's tenure is almost exclusively poor run, bar 7 games this season.

So was Adkins with the very same problems that you highlighted yet you made excuse after excuse for him. If you want me to say it then here goes, you're (hate saying it) better than this.

Adkins did better (marginally). And when you make the change (with a transfer window to do something in) I expect an improvement, not a deterioration. But that's besides the point. No matter how Adkins did, whether he was the worst manager we've ever had or not, it doesn't change the fact that results under Clarke have been consistently poor for about three quarters of his tenure. And more poor this season than good - there's a sandwich of 7 good results within 9 poor ones.

By the way, Clarke's win percentage for this season is the same as Adkins' was for the season he was sacked.

I wouldn't say it's that serious.

We have Bolton at home next - if we don't win that I will be officially concerned.

For now, I am frustrated but still confident we will be top six.
