RG30 Any transfer should be watched with interest, surely we put a sell on fee inserted into the transfer?

What? After them offering £3.5m? We bit their arms off!

So when they sell him for less that they paid us, do we have to pay a proportion of the loss?

Old Biscuitman
.:BigDaveInTheDungeon:.
I firmly believe we have a better team than Reading did last season. To be signed by Roy Keane is a massive compliment. He was the main reason why I came and signed for Sunderland."

if that is true why are they doing so shit?

It's simply proof that Halford lacks intelligence and judgement amongst other things. Another reason that he didn't fit with SC's way.

Could still turn out to be a quality player, just needs to grow up a bit maybe?

Bit like somebody in our own squad.

T.R.O.L.I. If true, it smacks of him trying to deflect from the ineptitude of his performances this season.
Did you choose one of those words very carefully?

I just hope that the pressure doesn't cause him to crack.

If it does his career could go to pot.

stop slagging halford off

hes a hero-in colchester

No surprise there really - did you see how much profit Colchester made when he came to Reading?

It's always a shame when a young man with potential makes a hash of his career. He's blowing it big-time.

Sunderland have recalled Stephen Wright from Stoke.

So maybe Halford could be off, wouldn't be a bad signing for Pards to be honest.

Keane to let players leave

Sunderland boss Roy Keane has revealed he is prepared to let a number of his fringe players leave this month.

Ross Wallace, David Connolly, Greg Halford, Graham Kavanagh, Ian Harte and Stephen Wright have all been informed they can move on during this month's transfer window.

Keane is trying to fund his own transfer moves and is prepared to offload some players to bolster his coffers.

The Irishman revealed he had talked with all the players and is now waiting to see what offers come in for them.

"We're looking to bring a number of players in during the window that can play a key role this season and that means we have to manage the squad," said Keane.

"There are some players that I'd consider going out on loan or moving on if it's right for the player and the club and I've spoken to some of the lads.

"I had a chat with Ross (Wallace), Dave (Connolly), Greg(Halford), Kav (Kavanagh), Hartey (Harte) and Wrighty (Wright) and told them if a club comes in for them this month I'd be prepared to have a chat.

Poor Greg couldn't get a sniff of the action, this must be the last straw for him now.
