I have every faith that this will be a very shrewd and a succesfull signing for Reading. When in form he is a very capable player with the quality to succeed in the Championship. I'll bet here and now that he will score 10-15 goals from january until the end of the season.

When on form, the only striker preferred to him for Iceland is Eidur Gudjohnsen, before the likes of Heidar Helguson. I stand by my prediction.

As long as we have the players with the ability to get the best out of him. IIRC, Gudjonsson was not so shabby

Crissakes Brendy, you could get excited standing in a bus queue!

My mate at football once trained with Gudjohnson.

Maybe Reading should have a look at him?

(He actually played for Iceland U-19s and was at an Icelandic PL club. You can find him in a couple of editions of FM ... )

Thanks to google translate:

English B-deildarliðið Reading and Esbjerg Denmark have agreed to Gunnar Heiðar Þorvaldsson go on loan to Reading from next year.

This confirmed Olaf Gardarsson, agent Bill Heidi, in conversation with Vísi today. He says that now remains of the negotiations between Gunnar Heiðar and Reading.

"It is planned to go out on Monday next. It will go to medical examination and hopefully finalized agreements, "said Olaf." I'm not concerned because this failure is not, "he added.

Gunnar Heiðar has very get a chance get a Esbjerg this year he came to the company from Hannover 96 in Germany.

I especially like the bit in Bold.

A combination of injuries, lack of playing time. So should a player be regarded as a failure at the age of 27 because of that?
When he is played regulary and is injury free he is a great striker and will prove so here. I dont care what his form of the last 4 years has been, His form the four previous years was 3 times the topscorer in the Icelandic premierleague, and then the topscorer in the Swedish Premier League. Your entitled to your opinion of course.
