Anyway... If there is anything in this, what do people think of Poyet vs Adkins?

I'd prefer Poyet to be honest. Literally have no idea why, but I really do not fancy Adkins.

Silver Fox Fvcking hell! RattLOLed much?

FWIW I'm questioning your suggestion that history is that important, I couldn't really care less about the rest of the guff you posted

IMHO it is a factor even at Preston,Burnley,Huddersfield,Plymouth-all clubs that have seen better days but may, just may come again.
Conversely Accrington Stanley,Aldershot or Rochdale have no great history and are most unlikely ever to achieve much.

BTW I like the idea that Poyet might be in the frame-presumably our roubles are considered more important than the greater potential (crowds) and history of Brighton if he were to come to us.

It's a tough and unpredictable league though. Look at us last season. Money and resource don't always get you out of that league. I think I lean more to Adkins because of that. He did wonders on a modest ish budget over two promotion winning seasons.

I reckon Poyet'd 'ave him.

Yep Gus has got the height and reach advantage, couple that with his South American ghetto upbringing and I doubt Nige'd see the fourth round.

True, so what makes him an attractive prospect? - we need someone who can get us out of that league..........oh wait, we just sacked one

So really Adkins is the other option

Greater potential and history at Brighton?

Getting good crowds and they have a decent catchment area.....but then so do we, I feel.

Greater history? They've won exactly one more FA Cup semi-final than we have and have enjoyed one more top flight season than us.

It all starts to unravel when you include Plymuth in that. Big catchment area yes, but have never been a big football club and have fewer titles to their name than us. Their biggest claim to fame is being the largest city in England NEVER to have played top flight football. That is serious under achievement.
