Pepe the Horseman
John Smith I'm just glad that atrocious Orlando Sa chant will no longer be sung. Didn't make sense or rhyme.

This. How difficult would it have been to go with Or-lan-do, which at least nearly rhymes with soul.

Let's be fair it's a Spandau Ballet song so proper rhyming, scanning or sense are not that important.

Thirded. Absolutely baffled at how popular it became.

"Gold" rhymes with "soul", ergo to use "Sa" you have to replace "soul" with "car" or "far" or "jar" or "tar".

"Orlando Sa (Sa), always believe you're a star" might have worked, even if it does sound a little wet. But no...

Could have gone with Orlando Sa (Sa), goalscoring superstar....

It'd be wrong. But they could have.

I was in the home end for the Fulham game and when Sa scored and we belted it out (at a very loud volume I may add) there were quite a few cringes from the Fulham fans

For some reason whenever I hear his name I think of Hermoine from Harry Potter correcting us and saying "it's Orlandosa, not Orlandosa."

So he's on his way out due to Brian's "gut feel." Like the way that Carriço bloke (who went on to win the Europa League with Sevilla) wasn't good enough either.

Not wanting a player doesn't always signify "he's no good"

Just some examples

1. Disruptive influence in dressing room

2. Not a team player, too selfish in games

3. Gets too many red cards

4. has booked half a dozen players' wives (see 1)

5. Won't play to instructions

6. Can buy 2-3 players with a transfer fee (e.g. Gylfi)

Brian quite explicitly rules all of these out when it comes to Sa (in GetReading today), and says it's a "gut feel" about fit. Well, OK, he doesn't actually state that 4 doesn't apply.

Sa is now apparently lining up a move to Maccabi Tel Aviv.

The gut feel comment seems to be more about how Brian wants the team to play, and Sa doesn't fit that style. I'd guess a large amount of football is about gut feel, instinct, hunches. The managers who do well are the ones with the best guts.

hes not gonna state publicly that he doesn't like him, but I think we can safely say he's not in his plans ..

Players struggle to settle in the south moving from the north. Let alone in a different country. Could be a mutual agreement to part company. Nothing to do with disliking some one either.

Hurtado increasingly looks like a punt which hasn't paid off.

Which does beg the question about why he's been given just 4 months to settle before he's out the door
