Esteban
skipper
Pepe the Horseman Jack Marriott today.
~

hahahaha, I should have been clearer.

Today was the first I remember in an age. Who was the previous one?

Puscas?

That's the only name that comes I to my head... But that was at Wigan years ago.

A win, but a shocking performance. Just do not think that Richardson knows how to set us up to get the maximum from the players at his disposal and I do not think he can make us better. He is walking a very thin tightrope. Wycombe must be totally baffled at how they lost that game. Bolton on Tuesday will be a real test.

Swift (also) scored a hat trick against QPR at home as we were there. Remember Jobi was on the EFL show on Quest that evening and said it didn't count as we didn't win (was a draw)

And agree on the Knibbs one

Of course.... Liam Moore had a shocker and QPR scored in the last minute with Charlie Austin baiting the home fans in the celebration. W*nker.

But he keeps getting points…

I can’t quite work out if we’re just extremely lucky or I’m missing something. Can’t really fault the results but certainly not the first time I’ve wondered how we’ve won tbe game

Basically relying on a player who is 31 and never had anything like this sort of form, bar maybe one season about 5 years ago. Not like we’re playing to his strengths either. It’s all a bit bizarre

Maybe we will keep it going and Jack will keep scoring and we’ll scrape the playoffs. Who knows

+1 that was a shocking performance yet somehow we won. The football is dire. Wycombe were a much better team and actually played some football, we couldn't do the basics.

It's a while since I came away from a game fuming at our ineptiude, WTF do the do in training, in team talks, at half time. The whole squad, team, tactics, and play is a complete shambles.

On particular point of anger was the three subs we had ready before our goal kick, why didn't he bring them on instead of leaving them hanging, unsettling the team, and leaking a goal. I've totally lost it with him as a manager with any talent.

It's akin to Stam's first season, where somehow we did keep getting results. Gravity caught up with him the season after though.

Well it's basically just Marriott this time, and perhaps Wing's output is underrated too after another assist today.

Generally you would expect performances and results to come in line, hopefully in this case we see performances improve as January signings bed in and confidence grows.

We allowed 35 crosses to come into the box today. It is not a one off for us to let so many in either. It's just not sustainable to allow the amount of crosses in that we do.

That's not even mentioning the 24 shots against.

They were destroying us down our flanks over and over again, infuriating.

Managing minutes for Nyambe and Roberts, who already look like essential starters.

When was the last time we had the top scorer in the league? Marriott must be in with a good chance, fitness permitting.

Echo what others have said: that was another disappointing performance and we were lucky not to lose that game.

WestYorksRoyal It's akin to Stam's first season, where somehow we did keep getting results. Gravity caught up with him the season after though.
Was saying this to the person next to me. We probably have our best scorer since Kermorgant, but once he was injured in the second season we completely fell apart (not helped by losing other players mind).

We've already seen how we struggle to score when Marriott's been injured this season.

We actually did quite well when Marriott was injured (not before he signed though). But get the point you certainly wouldn’t want him injured again atm

Jimmy Quinn in the 1993-94 season, with 35.

That's not counting Jamie Cureton in 2000-01, who was the joint top scorer in the division (with Neil Harris; Millwall). He scored 27, but one of those was for Bristol Rovers.

We've had a couple of second place seasons since Quinn:
  1. 2005-06 - Kevin Doyle (18) and Dave Kitson (18); behind Marlon King (Watford; 22)
  2. 2010-11 - Shane Long (21); behind Danny Graham (Watford; 24)
