kwik-silva I'd also like to pose another question

Duberry/Bike/Sonko/Ingimarsson, which 2 are going to be our CB's?

Bikey & Sonko for me. In the Chump you can get away with the slightly rough and readiness. Sonko is an excellent Championship defender, but when he is anywhere but on top of his game he is too error prone for the top flight.

Thanks, Kwik-silva. I'd like to see us win away to a reasonably good side. Then I'll be able to breathe easy.

Sonko is playing well. Ingi is in the team. So I think they'll stay together for a bit.
Harper might go, and Coppell has never seemed a big fan of Cisse, so will Bikey get a run in Midfield?

Tamworth_Royal
winchester_royal Good win, should shut up some of the pcunts like Strap.

Ratings:

USA - 7 - Not much to do.
Rosenior - 8 - Dfensively superb, offensiely OK
Shunt - 8 - Looks suited to playing LB, some really nice link up with Bobby.
Sonko - 9 - Super Solid.
Ingi - 7 - Still looks a tad slow..but a good performance.
Kebe - 9 - Bloody awesome, so quick, excellent dribbling skills, and adequate crossing.
Convey - 8 - Looked close to the Convey of old.
Harps - 7 - Quiet, but decent.
Cisse - 9 - Really impressed me today, strong in the tackle, and we saw some passing ability today......could be the real deal.
Doyle - 6 - If we do get offered 7m we should bite Villa's hand off. Very average today.
Lita - 7 - Worked his ass off for the team

Long - 7 - Looked decent.
Kelly - 7 - Looked very capable defensively
Hunt - 6 - Not enough time to make impression.

Don’t get offended Strap by this prat, Winchester Royal on another thread thought John Madejski bought Reading to stop Robert Maxwell making us TVR.
He’s so plastic he’s no idea about Reading’s history or what it was like standing on concrete at Elm Park.

ALOL

I'm not the one who has been calling Coppell, Madejski, and Hammond tw@ts the last few days.

What!? :? Thats crazy! Can't you just have GK captain and an 'elected' player to talk to the ref or however thats meant to work

Handsome Man Sonko is playing well. Ingi is in the team. So I think they'll stay together for a bit.

I'd like to see Bikey get a run out in midfield, that could be pretty interesting actually, I mean, he didn't play badly there last season when he was called upon

LOL at no one agreeing who played well or shit!
LOL at some the negatives not being able to take many positives from the game at all.

im not taking anything for granted, and im aware that plymouth were average/poor, but they gave us a physical battle, and well get plenty of those this season

marcus-untroubled again
defence8/10- sonks 9/10 rosenior great defensively, and better going forward, hunty looking quite accomplished
midfiled-biggest improvement 7/10 harps and cisse looked good, tackled, harried, passed and crossed well-cisse best game in the middle since the chelsea game, convey looks fit again, just needs that 1st goal to fire up his confidence, kebe another much improved performance8/10-looking like a fit glen little, with pace!
up front 6/10 i thought both lads worked very hard, created a few chances, and held the ball up pretty well, would still like a big striker

not the finished article, still room for improvement but i reckon thats a good start
if we can keep our home form, and be hard to beat away from home, we have a real chance to go up

We were absolutely woeful! So much so that my grandson fell asleep in his seat and didn't wake up until I jumped up when we scored the second and he ended up on the floor. The only thing that could possibly prevent us from getting relegated is if there are two more teams as bad as Plymouth. We created absolutely nothing up front and looked really dodgy at the back. Did the midfield turn up? A half decent team would have torn us apart.

Were you watching the same game :? We looked good for huge periods, I can only remember once when Plymouth had pressure, and they still didn't create any real chances. We could, and should, have scored 5 or 6, I think its more of a confidence think for our strikers, along with needing better service. Our defence was rock solid, and our midfield did turn up. Kebe and Convey came alive, especially for a period in the second half. Cisse and Harper looked fine at this level, but I'd still like to see Harper get involved more. I think it showed massive potential to kick on, and its a positive start.

Yeah, for some of the balls played we really needed a target man, kind of like Kitson, who is brilliant at holding the ball up and waiting for support. Something Lita struggled with on some occasions

Sarah Star But you can't write the other teams off. Notts Forest managed to make us look decidedly average.

Correct. I think the point is that it's down to us to make top three/four happen. Birmingham are showing the way by digging out results already. They could have been on two points but they're on six because of belief (and a bit of extra ability, natch).

Having said all that, I agree with those who are saying let's not get carried away - the squad is still looking thin. One or two more injuries in key places and we could be in trouble. And the forwards need to start firing. Plus we still need a left-back.

Because of Kevin Phillips, basically, as galling as that is. I wouldn't have been happy if we'd taken their approach to the transfer market, but I have to admit it looks like paying off in the short-term.

Doyle and Lita need service to score goals and whacking the ball forward for them to hold it up all the time won't work. There was a patch of about 10-15 minutes after we scored the second when we grew in confidence and looked god playing the ball on the floor. It'll take time for us to get over relegation, but if we have a good start and begin to play our football on the deck, we should see Doyle and Lita get goals.

Have to give plaudits to the fans. 19,202 was far better than I expected given the club's negligence in the close season. Hope their disillusionment takes a lot longer to kick in than mine did. Must be all these youngsters and families Mr Ego was farting on about. Oh for the blissfil ignorance of youth!

I believe the crowd will creep into around 20,000 for the Palace game.
