Deathy It's a great price for him, and I don't believe for one minute he is worth that much. Same for Kitson when he left. I think that is two amazing bits of business!
I can't see Wolves coughing up £6.5m in one lump though. I can see a Kitson esq deal coming on. (althought that paid dividends in the end)

RoyaleeWolfatthedoor Oxford off all you Royals - glad I got that off my chest!
Anyway, seems unlikely to me, but what are the chances of Wolves signing Doyle?
Absolutely no chance.

So has your housemate asked Doyle's girlfriend if he's likely to go to Wolves bcause you were saying there was no way this would happen earlier?

Royalee He's been given permission to speak to them - hasn't said he's definitely off yet, sounds like it's 50/50.

andrew1957 I really cannot believe those who think that £6.5M is such a great deal. Doyle scored 19 goals in 2 PL seasons which puts him in the top 15 or so PL strikers over that period. I suspect that he negotiated a release clause of this relatively small size in case we did not get promoted and I think Reading FC will be disappointed with so little as I suspect we would have got £10M if we had cashed in at the end of last season. We took a gamble of retaining his services and in the financial sense it has not paid off.
Good luck to Doyle if he goes though as he has been a great servant of the club and deserves PL football. But I hope for his sake a bigger club comes in for him as I think he is better than struggling at the wrong end of the table as I fear Wolves will do.

Sarah Star Why is he going to have a look round Molineaux if he's not interested in going there?
