Always the risk - didn't help Huddersfield of course.

Key on Saturday is to get at them and get ahead regardless of who is in charge.

For the 4th time this season, we will be facing a club with a new manager in the dugout than their previous game. Sunderland also had Tony Mowbray who was new at the time, granted not his first game.

I think it completely changes the dynamic of the game on Saturday depending on who comes in and when.

Ideal scenario would be that they haven't got anyone permanent in yet and are still a shambles.

Or Big Ron calls his old mate Mr P Clement.

It does change the dynamic but they are still a side devoid of confidence and with only 1 win to their name all season, so it is important we don't give them any chance to build any up i.e. by letting them have the ball for the first half an hour.

Ideal situation is the u21 coach who is now in charge, takes training until say Weds and then the new manager is appointed and comes in on Thursday, making for a totally disjointed week. Either that or the u21 guy just has them for the week and a new appointment is next. Toughest challenge would be having the new guy appointed but just with a watching brief on Saturday - as the players may well raise their game to impress them.

You speak of the ideal solution but Bournemouth have done that and are unbeaten in 5
It is an amazing stat that we will be facing a club with a new manager for the 4th time and it is only early October.

I think the positive behind it all is we've been in this situation before, where a new manager bounce effect could have taken place against a lot of opposition we have played this season. We've lost to Blackpool but beaten Stoke and Huddersfield. They probably all have less quality than West Brom on paper, but I'm sure Ince and co will be making the players aware (if they weren't already) and looking to focus on our game.

I always hate playing teams with quality that are underperforming. I always feel as if, even though a lot of other sides will turn them over, they could always turn it on against us and beat us. Hopefully we can just take the points on Saturday, no matter how it comes.

I guess the difference is that WBA are absolutely devoid of any confidence and form after playing under Bruce for the last few months.

At least Bournemouth got promoted last season, so the players will have some confidence from that. Plus their last 5 games (Wolves, Forest, Newcastle, Brentford and Leicester) have been much more favourable than the 3 that preceded it (Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool). Would think that Parker would've got them similar results if he had stayed in charge.

Confident?-They had just lost 9-0 at Anfield (a mid-table Premier League side) .

You can’t deny the quality in their squad. Good players playing with freedom and or trying to impress a new manager is not a good thing.

That’s two losses on the bounce then.

Unless the players were downing tools to get Bruce out, I can't see what immediate effect sacking Bruce will have. Hell, Gourlay is still there so he'll probably just hire one of his incompetent mates.

I agree with you, I think it is just the case that they have good players who were just cruising under Bruce rather than downing tools. If it is just the under 21 coach on the sidelines I can their players just carrying on as they have been, the only time that could change is if there is a new manager appointed between now and Saturday who is either on the sidelines or as someone has said, has a watching brief from the stands, and this jolts them in to some sort of life.

I've read over my dinner that it's their U23 coach alongside James Morrison and someone else who is temporarily taking charge of the first team, although it did not say over what timeframe.

Ultimately it can swing either way, could end up being a Gary O'Neil at Bournemouth or it could be an Andy Dawson at Hull at the moment, it tends to be the latter rather than the former.

At the end of the day, they've got rid of their manager, who knows what effect that will have on the players, but it may stimulate some sort of reaction no matter who is in charge on Saturday. They've got a squad littered with quality, if they turn up and perform, they'll likely turn us over, if they turn up in a similar fashion to what we've seen from them this season with a lack of quality in goal, we will beat them or at least get something.

Do any of their players have a Dad with managerial experience?

Just got rid of him alongside his Dad though... succession planning wasn't in the forefront of the Albion boards mind obviously.
