floyd__streete Rodgers is clearly an ambitious man, and whether his philosophy is simply a load of old flannel or actually totally inspired forward thinking will only become clear to us over the next few months. Rodgers really needs to succeed at Reading now after leaving Watford after a short period; failure with us will leave huge question marks over his ability as well as his loyalty and commitment and he'll end up carving out a career in the bottom rungs of english league management. What he does with us over the next few years will determine whether he gets his wish to manage Chelsea in the Champions League or whether he ends up coaching Gillingham in the Johnstone's Paints.

readingbedding Don't think so, if you liked one, you're compelled to dislike the other.
That's it I'm afraid.
One or the other.

Yeah and the LMA know nothing about football management either?
With a bit of luck Rodgers can combine the positive traits of both the previous regimes. There's definitely an element of Pardew's more "cheerleader" style in a lot of his public statements but he's evidently trying to temper it with an equally cerebral Coppell style demeanour.
Hopefully its an approach that can reap rewards but he(and us) might be wise to try and lower expectations just a little. He needs to be given time to do the job yet constant remarks about "World Class" this and "Premier league" that could put an awful lot of pressure on his and his (relatively young) players shoulders.
