It also ignores the fact that when playing a "bigger" club that club will always require a guaranteed fee for playing - so if you aren't sure of the likely attendance it's more of a financial risk than a benefit.

No Fixed Abode Discussing 'friendlies' with a few Reading fans on Saturday. Got to LOL the clubs one and only 'home' friendly is against Palace. Can't imagine what the club was thinking by picking that one. Surely a friendly against a decent foreign team would have been more financially lucrative......I mean, who is going to bother to go to a friendly against Palace?


Southampton played Ajax and only 5,000 went so I don't think it really makes a difference for Premier League clubs. People far more interested in attending league games than some random warm-up match, regardless of the opposition.


5713 acording to their site (they have the same terrible template as us) which is pathetic, and makes the 4000 or so we'll get v Palace look almost decent.
