PistolPete Laugh if you like, but Pearce, Guthrie and Williams all strike me as leaders. Williams and Guthrie weren't playing and Pearce lacks the performances to go with the shouting...

Pearce and Williams I can agree with, Guthrie however shouldn't be anywhere near a captains armband.

paddy20 Our biggest problem is we don't have a captain, the ilk of a Parky, a Murty or a Gooding. Someone on the field who could drive them on. Its no good Crosby shouting all the time. As a team we are too nice with a sensible , intelligent but mild captain.Where's our warhorse? Its a massive problem for us and one that has not been rectified since Murty went.Look at all the top teams, Jon Terry, Gerrard, Kompany, they all have strong leaders. I don't think we have anyone that fits the bill.

This is crucial.

Is Morro potentially a promising candidate in this regard?

Extended-Phenotype Not sure you can politicise booing. Many liberals are happy to see a sensible stretch of booing if accompanied by education and rehabilitation and that money is not wasted on megaphones to make the booing louder when it could be spent on dealing with why people get booed in the first place. We also accept that the threat of booing someone to death does not reduce mistake statistics.

Politicise? So much for the separation of powers..

long run of utter crap

short to moderate

I suspect five consecutive crap games at home is a pretty long run in most supporters' minds and seems like an eternity to many of us who have endured it.

soggy biscuit BOOOOOing during the match, sarcastically olé'ing when we pass the ball, cheering a player leaving the pitch, chanting the name of a sub when he only ever performs in January when looking to leave.

Worst fans in the country.

The fans got the performance they deserved.

Agree that the reaction of the fans was disappointing and won't help. However, worst fans in the country?? You clearly don't know many other sets of fans.

To be honest, given the long run of utter crap that the home fans have had to endure recently, they were, by and large, incredibly patient and supportive for most of the first half. Yes, there was a bit of reaction after Gorkss' pass for a corner but that was largely light-hearted teasing and hopefully he realised that (I can see it would blow the confidence of a young/inexperienced player but doubt it really affected him).

Rest assured an awful lot of home fans would have been ripping their team to shreds a lot earlier and worse than the Mad Stad did last night, had they been through the same experiences.

Leeds away a couple of weeks back. We were four up and they where going mental at their team. A damn site more vociferous than our booing last night.

Speaking as UKIP's director of campaigns and strategy, I have no problem with a bit of old fashioned British booing. It's ridiculous that the EU's red tape makes it impossible for people to boo bar staff whilst they enjoy a pint, but, as Nigel told me yesterday, Bulgarians seem to have no trouble booing our soldiers on patrol in Bratislava.

Kinda agree with this.

Been firmly in the "give pog/guthrie a chance" camp, seeing how things shaped up over a season. Given them a chance. Not fussed.

Pog, for his wages, should be knocking in goals in the championship even without much service - not once has he individually created something himself when many others have.

Guthrie, for his wages, should be spraying passes all over the pitch, keeping us possession, creating chances etc. He isn't. He's adequate, like Pog but just not worth the money - whether that's spending the same on better or saving us some bucks.

Man we have been utterly dire in the transfer market since our promotion season, the Premier League reinforcement bunch being the worst.

EDIT: Also, given Adkins a season too. Verdict: Not fussed either. Obviously better than Brian though, judging by those recent cricket scores of Leeds.

3 wins in the last 13 home games. And the win against Charlton was a shit match as well.

Teams beaten: Charlton, Bolton, Blackpool
Teams Drawn to: Milllwall, QPR, N. Forest, Yeovil, Derby
Teams lost to: Bournemouth, Wigan, Sheffield Wednesday, Blackburn, Barnsley

Besides 2 January victories against teams at death's door, we have not beaten anyone by more than 1 goal at home since October 19th. That is over 5 months.

With Guthrie, we beat Birmingham.

Without Guthrie, we lose to Barnsley.

We need to cut the dross before we start getting rid of our better players. If we get good offers for Guthrie or Pogrebnyak or Drenthe, I'm not opposed to selling them, just as long as we don't "replace" them with Akpan and Blackman.

We also had our best run of the season without Guthrie. It's pretty obvious that the one we are really missing is Williams.

None of them are going to want to stay here if they can help it, if next season means cutting cloth AND still playing in this weird style, why would they? :|

If by Williams you mean Karacan, then I agree.

I think we do miss Jem yes but Williams was playing really well before this latest injury happened. Would much rather have Karacan and Williams in midfield next season than Guthrie and an other.

A rare agreed with brendy!

My biggest gripe is the singing for Le Fondre whenever a forward makes a hash of something. It wouldn't be half as bad if Le Fondre wasn't such a passenger for a lot of his appearances or one of the main culprits for missing chances.

agree with all o that too.

Not keen on it myself, I'll admit to joining in, but only because it was something, anything, to join in with and make some noise in that graveyard.

As most have said, I don't normally agree with seat banging, or yelling abuse at players, particularly early in a game or for their first mistake that day. But I think that performance was bad enough that by the last 10 - 15 minutes it warranted everything it got, even the childish seat banging that normally makes my blood boil.

I'm a big fan of Adkins, but even I can't help but think that the entire club seems disjointed and split on everything and perhaps we need a change to act as a new starting point and unifying force. It's been clear from the start that no matter what he does some would never support him.

Karacan and Williams might be too similar.

Karacan and Guthrie, Karacan and Williams, Williams and Guthrie, for me.
