On BBC deadline day feed, a Reading fan said hector is a sure future England international LOL.

Guess his Jamaica caps mean nothing.

Some of our fans are dumb.

Absolutely depressing if he leaves especially to a club where he will likely never play. What is chelsea ' s end goal in this?!?

When Hector finally does fcuk off and chase the money i hope he doesn't come back with a "i would like to thank the fans" type statement

Just tell the truth

"Yeah - i was on the bench for Reading picking up £10k a week - now i'm on the bench for Chelsea picking up £30k a week"

They did that stupid stat thing again and Virgil van Dijk came off worse than Hector, and went to Southampton for £12m.

£4m is decent money for Hector but I can't help but think we should have been trying to get a lot more than that, at least £6-8m surely and should put a 'rising to' x amount clause in there too, considering Stones is apparently worth £35m+ :?

If he has a £4m release clause in his contract then there is nothing we can do about it

We shouldn't have given him a £4m release clause then, considering he only signed the damn thing this summer.

Oh is that what it is? Didn't know about that tbh.

If that's the case then I agree with CountryRoyal, should have made it higher considering he only signed it in the summer.

"These are my clients demands"
"No, can we make that release clause fee higher?"
"'fraid not - if you refuse he will just leave for a lower fee anyway, should anyone bid for him"

Players hold all the cards these days

Exactly.

Ask yourselves this RF and CR, How do you think we persuaded him to sign the deal in the summer of the back of a decent championship season and in particular good high profile performances in the FA Cup?. Not to mention a summer involving two International tournament to put him in the shop window.

If that deal hadn't been struck then we wouldn't be looking at anywhere near £4m for him unless he suddenly turned into Franz Beckenbauer between now and January.
