Bucks Dave Actually, that is the point. In two we looked good and in three we didn't (and I have seen all 5).

But, the way that footy works is that you look for the wins and draws not the supporters view of the performance. You may recall that to get to the next round of the cup you need to win (no extra points or credits for quality of performance then?); and in the league it is 3x the number of wins + the number of draws that decides your position, not the quality of performance. I'll settle for the results and enjoy that if it is all the same to rest of you? :o

Exactly, it's a results business, no matter how much the ilk of Royal Rothers deny.

Thaumagurist* What is there to be concerned about? In five games, we have won 3 games, drawn 1 and lost 1. We have scored 11 goals and conceded 6 goals. We're still looking good.

The fact that we've only played one team better than the bottom 6 of the Championship thus far and been thrashed by them.

Reading were thrashed at Charlton. The only reason Reading got 2 was because the referee felt extremely generous, twice. There was only 1 team in that game for the most part, they also hit the bar late on and went close a couple of times and the score could have been really embarassing. To come away with a 4-2 flattered Reading in all honesty. But feel free to keep sweeping it all under the carpet.

I didn't see it as being thrashed, yes, Charlton were more on top than we were throughout the game, but when we pulled it back to 2-2, the feel of the game was that it could go either way. Unfortunately we just exploded and conceded 2 goals in what? five minutes, and it was all over.

They hit the bar late on from a great move, but we hit the bar as well (from not such a great move).

Well quite, and had that been a Pompey on Saturday then it would have been 7. The basic defensive errors were there for all to see AGAIN. 'Well they only beat us by 2' Yes but a team that has been ravaged by injuries/player sales and who have been indifferent themselves to say the least just stuck 4 past Reading!!! It was a shocking performance and an abysmal result.

do you know me?
do you know what i think?
or are you just lumping any positive comments on here and attributing them all to me
seems like anyone who disagrees with your over the top negativity = wrong
ive been more than critical of some of the clubs decisions/tactics
said clearly that if signings werent made that id be very unhappy-that personally id buy in a left back, DM,RW and big striker etc. if i was in charge
that keeping karacan off even the bench so far this season seems odd.
but dont let that stop your stream of bullshit

and i stand by my comments that 4-2 doesnt equal any kind of thrashing
thanks

absolutely-if we play like that in any of the up coming away games, ill be very very worried indeed
but thinking we can go through the season without losing some away games convincingly isnt really realistic anyway
and ignores what is required to get out of this league, which really isnt 106 points and only two losses all season
im happy at the moment that we are ok,midtable id say, but with plenty of room for improvement-theres been alot of changes to the team, and id like a month of the team playing together and working things out before i press the panic switch.
feel free to press your sooner though.

a source has told me the lads were in at 8.30 on sunday/monday at hogwood getting an absolute roasting from the coaches-infront of a load of school kids playing a tournament-it doesnt seem that the club think saturday was acceptable either

Panic switch? Who mentioned a panic switch? You 'LOL'd' at someone saying it was a thrashing, in terms of the performance and how much better than us they were I would definitely agree that it was a thrashing, in the same way it was at Portsmouth. We are going to lose games this season, we won't get close to 106 points, however I don't expect anyone in this league to put 4 past us with such ease.

I sort of admire people who can laugh at themselves by stating the opposite of what is obvious to everyone else knows.

Well done!!

Being beaten by 2 goals is not a thrashing. Being beaten by 3 goals or more is a thrashing.

i was LOLing at royalee
who has been posting LOL as a response to any positive comment on every thread on this board today it seems
and did so again just then-so its hardly nasty brendywendy mocking poor royalee.

i mentioned a panic switch not you, which i will be pressing at a later date,
if the team as set up now, with youngsters and new players, and players still to prove themselves
doesnt improve, and gel together into a strong top half unit.

it was definately a very flat away performance-incredibly worrying in its reminiscence of last years defensive frailties-and if that continues ill be just as upset, if not more so than anyone on here.
