Row Z Royal
Zammo Kebe. Jeez, where do you start. If he actually put in some hard work that went along with his obvious talent he'd defo be Prem bound. It's when it suits with Kebe.

If Clyne for Palace did a job on MacAnuff the other week then Peters is the left-back in the team of the year so far. To criticise Kebe after a MOTM performance from his opposite number is mindless.

Kebe has all the talent in the world. Can he not drift inside if the left back is giving him a hard night ? And Waddle said Walcott had no footballing brain.

Sounds like we done well tonight against a pretty good Ipswich side, unbeaten in 4 away so far this season, really pleased to read that Stretch has slotted back in and playing well, he is the type of player that the fans take to easilly, lots of effort and determination to do well, and its amazing how Cummings appears to have upped his game, by miles since last years horror shows. Just how does McD do it ? he has made Kebe into a match winner and now seems to have weaved his magic on Cummings, Karacan, Robson-Kanu and the improving Pearce, I would say he has some man management skills !

SLAMMED Pleased with the result. Could have gone either way but a hard earned 3 points.

Another big LOL @ the twats who left before the goal just so they could be home 5 minutes quicker

Sorry, but LOL at thinking that leaving 5 mins earlier means getting home 5 mins earlier! That's not the way the car parks and traffic work........

better atmosphere tonight, good to see it spreading down the east.
We even nearly had a left side right side chant (even if it was only two blocks,an improvement)

Very even game with nothing between the sides. Decent performances from the lesser names today - Cummings, Armstrong, Karacan, even HRK to an extent. Thought the second sending off threw the game out of its stride a bit and both sides struggled to re-assert themselves in the 10v10 situation. If there was going to be a goal then I thought it'd be a scrappy one and so it proved. Oh well, i'll take it.

PS - Antonio

Really well earned 3 points. Not the greatest game in terms of quality, but in terms of passion, effort and desire that was right up there with the best.

Cummings was absolutely superb. If he keeps going like this then we have a real player on our hands.

Fantastic stuff.

Tim Dellor seemed to find the only people who thought the game was an exciting, entertaining spectacle. As Maguire says, a pretty even match. Two fairly good teams cancelling each other out. Hard working team performance and it's probably fair to say that our numerous misses & half chances were very very slightly better than theirs. We deserved the points for the teamwork & graft if not the football.

Well I really enjoyed it this evening.

That was a very hard fought game and I thought we did well to cancel out any of their striking threat. I thought their number 2 was outstanding. Special mentions to Longy who took a lot of unpunished abuse and Church who, as I correctly predicted, scored with his first touch.

Lastly to the referee who was a cock. It was interesting to hear both fans singing "You don't know what you're doing".

It's games like these define a group of players as a team. They went through a lot this evening and, fair play to them, did exactly what they needed to.

Really enjoyed that.a proper game, tactical battle with some really dirty ipswich play. The effort and commitment from every player was huge, kept closing down till the last second.
Kebe had a late fitness test and he wasnt right, though still produced a few moments, and even gave us d few rare glimpses of the old fall over his own legs routine. Mcanuff did ok in a tight midfield. Hrk was good and looks a player. Harte solid at fb and cb. Shane long worked very hard, won every header, held up,defended and showed a better touch.
Pearce was an absolute rock, and even managed to bring the ball out like terry, stretch again excellent in the middle, cummings actually brilliant at the back and going forward.
And karacan MOM with a repeat of his liverpool A game.ten out of ten.immense.sidwellesque. Subs good. Im very happy and impressed.this side has real balls along with a fair ammount of attacking flair.

Kitson12 Karacan MOM for me. Cracking performance. Pearce was immense.

Mills really frustrates me, sometimes fantastic, other times a kn0b. Today he was the latter, why on earth did he need to body check the Ipswich player off the ball? When on a yellow, you DON'T do that kind of thing. Idiot, and could have cost us the game. Luckily it didn't.

Wow. Just seen the highlights and have to agree. What a bone-headed thing to do when on a yellow card (or ever, in fact).

He's a fine defender at his best but that's extremely poor.

Great win tonight though, early season's signs suggest we're equipped to ensure a mid-table finish, and we may sneak something a little better.

amazing that 2 or 3 years a go 8 of our 11 were in our reserve squad

MOTM- karacan really stepped up tonight, snap in the tackle and pace in the pass

Mills got sent off for the same two fouls-so poor in my opinion

but their number 2 was overall the MOTM by a country mile

Yeah I was nonplussed at the "won every header" thing when he got monstered in the first half.

Which one was the number 2 btw? The left back?

Matt Mills, you are an idiot. Three sendings off in little over a season? Absolute horror show from him tonight, from the moment he let a long ball bounce on the edge of the 18 yard box, Scotland stole it off him and put a clear cut chance wide. If Scotland had hit the deck then Mills would surely have gone much earlier then he eventually did for a desperate last-ditch lunge. This bloke can ocassionally be inspirational but is just as often an absolute liability and his own indiscipline will stretch our thread-bare squad with numerous suspensions over the course of the season I have no doubt. Luckily, Pearce played with intelligence throughout and put his senior partner to shame. Kudos also to Harte who filled in admirably after the skipper's thoroughly deserved dismissal for two cynical bookings.

Good win, underserved win but we will take any win coming our way. Karacan was the pick tonight in a thoroughly scrappy game.

Two of our better performers were nullified tonight.
Kebe by their excellent number 2 and Mills by his own stupidity. Fortunately for Mills the team dug in and got a deserved win.
Ipswich did their best to bash us up with a very physical 5? man midfield. The ref took so long to clamp down on them, somewhat ironic that their equally stupid player got him self sent off for a second yellow for kicking the ball away
Did their number 8 ever get booked with his persistent fouls?

Any way well played Reading for keeping going and getting a good three points.
Special mention to Long Karacan, Cummings and Pearce who were excellent. (Cummings took a booking for the team as well when Ipswich were on a break. He even got a round of applause for that)

By the way another shite ref!
