Highlight of the day-free parking.
Church and HRK had a wonderful opportunity to shine and didn't.
I thought we were generally in control and I am glad that Brian played almost the first eleven.
Neat ground with a genuinely friendly atmosphere but I wish the plastics who were chanting that their shed was bigger than Stevenage's ground etc.knew a bit about our history and where we have come from and showed a bit more humility.

Had a bet on us to win the cup before the game each-way at 66/1bearing in mind that Cardiff and Millwall have got to the final in recent years and were no better than we now are.
Looking forward to a favourable draw tomorrow.

Before the game I suggested to my brother that this ref is o.k. and I don't think he let me down.
There was one div to the left of the goal about half-way back stood next to a smaller bloke with glasses and both about 25 or so who insisted on calling the ref a cnut with a few women sitting nearby.
I think he may have been a nobber (he's definitely an embarrassing Knobhead) because he shouted out to Handbags by name at half-time and I think he was shouting to Compo and Affers(is that one of us?) as well.
A big mouth and no class.

This was a game where we should have won comfortably but then could have lost.

Stevenage did not create a single chance outside their 10min spell, but neiter did Burton v M Boro. You could see that happening to us at one point.

A couple of pre match pints and the cold combined to force me to the toilet 5 mins from time. Cracking timing, i thought wed gone 2 1 down

Just got in.

I'd have to agree that MOTM was between Leigertwood/Long - both put in fantastic performances, although I thought Leigertwood was a little quieter in second half. I just don't understand Church - this is his opportunity to show what he's made of and instead he doesn't look for the ball, doesn't get into the right positions, doesn't tackle - really doesn't seem interested. Long is streets ahead of him and at least he does put himself about and try and sniff out a goal - so I was glad he got our winner.

Good away crowd - crap ground.

A long, cold walk to and from the station and thanks to the @rsehole taxi driver at the station who wouldn't give us a lift to the ground "because there's a lot of traffic". Lord only knows how he makes his money.

Considering those that were there are the 2,000 or so die hard fans with the most points, I only recognised the usual suspects from on here. Every time we go away, we always say we never recognise people from other games, home or away!!

crap ground.

Genuine

Cracking little ground, would rather watch football there than any of the lego sets we get to visit in the league.

...ok, it was only one bloke, who I'm convinced is the bloke you used to sing "come ON you ROY-urrrls" at Elm Park in a voice so deep he made Barry White sound like Aled Jones.

LJ
parky We played well in the first half, always looking good when coming forward. Sinclair came on for Stevenage and that changed the game for them, our back four simply couldn't handle him, Ingimarsson then took him out for what looked like a stonewall penalty. Had the benefit of being in with their fans behind the goal and it happening right in front of me. This then spurred them on which created a dodgey 10 mins thereafter. We fully deserved the win though.

Yeah we were sat in the North Terrace too. Seemed like we were the only Reading fans in there, everyone was in Stevenage scarves, and calling Shane Long a diver and Simon Church Welsh, both of which are true statements. Just out of interest were you to the right of the goal or the left? And did you show any emotion for the goals? I nearly let out an expletive when Matt Mills let both Rob Sinclair and Darius Charles wade past him, in a matter of minutes. Was a definite penalty, and I felt for Stevenage, because they wasted some great opportunities. But really glad we took our chance and came out on top in the end. Good day out, made the 1h 45 minute queue outside the ticket office all worth it.

Was on the far left by the corner, Let out some expletives after the goal which was smothered by celebrating. Chants of 'Go on my team' made up for it to let out some steam. Especially when the bloke stood next to me kept talking about Stevenage and I'm just smiling and nodding. 'Good result in the week wasn't it?' 'Did you come to the Newcastle game?'

The result is what counts and well done to the lads for delivering it.

I didn't think we showed much quality until the last ten minutes but controlled the game for an hour or so more by our know how and Leigertwood's strength and the fact that Stevenage paid us too much respect. Then they started running at us, our central midfield vanished and our back four looked exposed. Once they had scored there only looked one winner and it wasn't us but to be fair we somehow rode out the storm and as I previously mentioned finally showed a bit of quality in the last ten minutes led during this period by McAnuff.

I never really felt the cup tie atmosphere as I could only really hear their fans during the short period their team was on top.

That Rob Sinclair is class! BM should take a look at him! Totally changed the game once he came on.

It was never a pen - that guy hit the deck before he even got tackled. Totally looking for it.

Just woken up and feel like shit. Good day.

8 of us stood at the side of the East terrace nearest the away end. Got some strange looks when we didn't celebrate the Stevenage goal and even stranger when Shane popped the winner in! Mind you it was from the half dozen schoolboys behind us who had just realized that their suspicions were correct.

Good atmosphere coming across from our fans in the away end.

Interesting comments from their manager about McD in the programme.
"Brian is a very thoughtful and personable man and he has presented his thinking considerately and well this week. It seems that everywhere I go I keep bumping into Brian;Wycome and Brentford in the last couple of weeks. He works very hard for his club and it is important that his fans know that".

Thank you Graham.

Not much to add, it was a pretty dire game that we were in control of. Played quickly with little skill, lots of head tennis and few chances. At least the chances we had we took.

Legs was probably MOTM, Long looked off the pace, almost like he wanted more protection from the ref over the physical mauling he was getting. Church has gone from being absolutely dire to being totally disinterested as well, he couldn't even manage to work up the enthusiasm to be caught offside.
