Shout out for the old Port Vale ground, went there once in a promotion season circa 1978/9. Just huge, massive terracing, though why?

Like the old Valley at Charlton as well, that side terrace was extraordinary.

Vale Park was built to be "the Wembley of the north". Seriously. Only one side of the ground was finished. The plans were impressive, though

Brammel Lane for me been 5 times and we have never lost which helps. Any old skool terrace that had a roof was always good for making noise. I remember Wallsall they had a Southbank style stand with an undercover section for away fans, we may have only had a couple of hundred but made loads of noise. Likewise Aldershot and I remember Swindon back in the day you used to be penned in the corner in a coverd section. On one ocasion someone set light to a Swindon scarf and the police moved in to put it out, which led to a ruck. Must have been about 81 we lost 3-1 Bowman scored for us. Anyone else remember this or did I imagine it!

since the Jan 2000 2-2 draw (and the proper start of the "recent" Reading ascendancy.....and despite them only having three sides to the ground then), it has to be Priestfield.

Craven Cottage for reasons already discussed - although no mention of the 8 Bells? Always travel in numbers there, always a pissed up Reading support, great atmosphere can be created under the roof of the Putney End.

Ashton Gate - Similar to Craven Cottage. Always a pissed up Reading support travelling in numbers, decent pubs a short walk away, and a great atmosphere can be created in the Wedlock Stand.

Stadium of Light - the only new ground I really like. Noise from all directions, and Newcastle's a short trip away for a pre- and post-match bevvy or three.

The New Den - cracking place to visit, short train ride from some decent pubs around London Bridge, and the atmosphere created in a half-full stadium is the best per person by some way.

Carrow Road - This would probably be top of my list were it not for the fact it's massively overpriced and Norwich City is the arsehole of clubs. Norwich city centre is a brilliant place, Carrow Road is also decent. Always full, decent atmosphere, pity about OTBC.

Bramall Lane - city centre site, some decent pubs nearby, our recent record helps

St Mary's - decent atmosphere for an unspectacular new stadium. Decent pub just across the railway, easy to get to on the train. One of my favourites.

Hates:

Villa Park - never been enamoured with it. Seemed a bit soulless, and I don't like Villa.

Reebok Stadium - it's not even in Bolton for a start.

Stamford Bridge - because it's Chelsea.

St James's Park - binoculars required.

Fratton Park - it's not spelt Krap Nottarf backwards for nothing.

But Highbury and Maine Road were real football grounds. Also liked Ninian Park and Selhurst Park before it became all seater. (Selhurst that is)
Craven Cottage is among my current faves.

The City Ground for me. I love Nottingham and that ground is probably my favourite that i've been too.

Vale Park was built just after WWII and the club was very ambitious then - they reached a FA Cup semi as a Third Division club in 1954. The new ground had a capacity of 50,000 and was said to be the 'Wembley of the North'.
