Good move for Obita, he'll learn a lot. And nothing will make him appreciate McDermott more than working under such a half-baked manager as Sanchez.

Clearly bad to have two Jordans in training

good move for the boy. i hope he goes there focused on proving to the watching reading scouts that he is capable of playing at a higher level. i've got high hopes for this kid, especially after the excellent showing he gave in pre-season. i'll watch this one with interest.

Nice man as a manager there as well, should set Lawrie up well for a higher league club in the summer if Barnet have a good end of season.

FLS got that wrong - Obita was in shot for the cross, #37 in the foreground, but it wasn't his cross...

He came on and within the first minute had caught my eye 3 times.I thought he was tremendous - I had thoughts of all the scouts who weere there to watch Crewe's 17 year old prodigy and then probably thought they'd found a better alturnative prospect until they discovered that he's not actually our player to sell.

A lot of variety in his play, amazing confidence, especially considering that the only player he'd have even known was Michael Hector. Huge potential. Showed Mark Marshall for the one trick pony that he is. Crewe were shaken by him, the Crewe management were going spare trying to re-organise their defenders to cope with him.

The man is mustard, every time he had the right back one-on-one you felt he would get past him and make something happen. They had to put 2 men on him to have any chance of coping, which opened up other areas of the pitch too.

i'm looking forward to when we say the same about him.

Just watched FLS - the commentary was:
" Lawrie Sanchez gave a debut to Reading youngster Jordan Obita, and he combined with Holmes before his fellow Royals loanee Michael Hector sealed the points with his first goal for the Bees."

Obita passed to Holmes, who crossed to the back post where Hector headed it in.

Ideal F'ing hell, going by these reviews we've got some kind of wonderkid in this one.

sounds very promising indeed. add to that his stand out performances in pre-season last summer, he is certainly one that must be close to getting a crack at first team action next season. I hope so.

In the interests of balance.....

Hmmm, he looks decent but he came on against 9 men, not something most debutants have in their favour! And the Marshall one trick pony thing... not true, we didn't see Obita having the out and out pace to go past people like Marshall could. He looked good, don't get me wrong, but I think this reaction is a bit over the top. And if Marshall hit cross after cross against defenders ('not beating the first man') like Obita did today I don't think he'd get such rave reviews. Especially against 9 men!!

I really don't agree that he was all that. It was like MM but with different attributes and weaknesses. Where was the end product? Obita crossed plenty of times without looking, where was the awareness in that?? MM often had two men on him... and Obita only once maybe went past the man? I may also have mentioned previously that he was playing versus 9 men.... Like I said though, here's hoping he's a big success. Don't think he was totally today but there was something promising there!

Sounds like he's made a good start. I can't wait to see him evolve into the first team. I reckon he could be the new Doyle, Long, SIG et al but in a 4-5 years time he will hopefully be an integral part of our EPL team.

Just seen Hector's goal. Brave!

And he looks HUGE. How big will he be when he's all growed up?

A future star!

I misheard it then, thought they said he combined with Hector for their goal - kids were running riot while I was watching it... regardless, it wasn't Obitas cross that set up the goal...

The Reading Barnet lads may get a chance to stymy Swindon's journey to Wembley in the Paintpot Cup.

Last I heard scores were level after 1st leg Semi at Barnet. C'mon Cedric 'The Lion of Whiteknights' Basseaya - the County Grround is where you get off the mark!
