Reading supporters being miserable cynical tossers should hardly come as a surprise I suppose.

Whatever happens will happen. Let people do what they like but i presume this is encouraging everyone to stand up. In for the standing / out for the scarves.
does that make me a cynical tosser. Possibly.

If you want to do it then do, and if you don't then don't, but don't knock others for making the effort, what harm can it do?

As I said in the sock thread, if the kids want to have fun then let them, it's not as if we have a rep to protect!

I'm moving house that day, so won't be at the game. If I give someone a scarf, will they hold it up for me?

Having been just about the only club in the country to refuse to "do the gay thing with the scarfs" and taking the piss out of other clubs for doing it. This strikes me as a particularly stupid initiative.

Especially seeing as the atmosphere seems to have been pretty good, certainly in the last couple of games I went to.

I'd rather see a plea to wear something blue / white / both and cheer loudly personally. Each to their own I guess. If people want to do it fine. If they don't, they won't.

I hope you don't turn up for an 8pm kick-off... It's 2pm.

Scarves? How ghey is that? STAR should just try to get everyone to start buggering each other in the stands and have done with it

I like this. If Reading propose this, it's branded as LOLATMOSPHERELOL. But if Napoli/CSKA Moscow fans turned up with a few thousand waving scarves everyone would be worshipping it.

Well said. When did waving a scarf become "ghey"?

Miserable sods.

Exactly why?

1. It is bad form to wear blue, white or blue and white at a Reading game?

2. It is bad form to admit to being a Reading FC fan?

3. It is passe to wave or show a scarf which is why Liverpool fans never do it?

4. You didn't suggest it?

Presumably many of those who think that this is a "ghey" idea, thought having the bands of blue - white - blue balloons at Griffin Park was "ghey" as well; yet I seem to recall it looking superb on the day.

Some people only seem happy when having something to moan about; if you don't want to join in, don't, but if thousands of others do, so what? Why slag it off?
