I think he will get a reasonable reception.
I wonder if this will be the first time that the crowd gets at Brian-for a team second from bottom and winning one league game in 4 months I think he has had a fairly easy ride unlike some of the stuff that O'Neil and Lambert have had to put up with.
All credit to Reading fans for this but Monday could be uncomfortable for him.

His action is bigger than MCD and him. He refused to join Reading fc on there travels. In my eyes thewhy should a fan who pays his wages have to put up with that. I think all the fans who went to Sunderland should be refunded by a big time charlie . No player is bigger than the club. I for one will not accept him back at the club. We are Reading fc

He was going to be on the bench again and probably not brought on.

We all would, wouldn't we, but then we support and love this club, he doesn't. He's also a multi-millionaire who needn't give a fcuk about us, as there will be another club around the corner wanting him for 20-30k a week. Same for almost all of the squad. We saw it when we in the Premier League a few years ago, this league changes even the players you thought you connected with. Money and fame. I fcuking hate this league!

Good luck to the lad, if he can actually get through this with his job intact....many wouldn't.

I think that the crowd will be more bothered and enthused by the opposition in-hand, than to be worrying too much about individual players, and whatever their volition.

SPARTA I have no problem with Guthrie at all. I have a problem with how he's been managed though. A player of his ability should be in the side. His problem is he bites too easily, but I'd also have a massive problem if a useless kunt like Leigertwood was getting a game ahead of me.

Get behind him, and if he's on the sodding bench again, chant his name and keep chanting it until Brian plays him.

Could not have put it better!

Yeah, because we know more about managing a team than Brian Championship McDermott.

A straight choice between Guthrie or McD is a not a contest! Guthrie needs to be sensational, if he ever plays for RFC again. McD for me in a two horse race.

Brian stays. Sell Guthrie for whatever we can get in January, a disgrace to the club. Apology not accepted.

for fcuk sake were 19th in the table with 1 win all season, the team does not need fans booing their own player. Guthrie ain't exactly covered himself in glory since joining but he will want to prove himself, fans booing him will not help his cause whatsoever

see (the invisible post) twelve posts above

I dont think there will be any booing.....against a big team, where we will raise our game, on the contrary

There needs to be a do nothing option. I won't cheer or boo him & will wait to see what he offers up on the pitch.
