DOYLERSAROYALER Swap deal with Odemwingie :D

in for this! but really, the point of having anton as our owner is that we can keep our class players and build. this surely involves keeping alfie? if some outrageous bid came in for him im sure we'd take it but if someone came in with just a market value bid im sure we would reject it. id say 6m-8m is our valuation.

He can't even get into our starting eleven, reckon he'd jump at the chance to leave

Adam Le Fondre will stay at Reading and will a first pick on the team sheet should we be relegated to Championship.

He wants to play games, so why move on and warm the seats on the bench at another club as has been the case for Le Fondre this season.

Top scorer in the Championship next season if RFC get it right on the pitch and provide the service this guy needs.

Can't see Hammond selling le fondre for anything less than £4/5 mill, someone out there would be willing to pay it if west brom arent.

Royal91 If Andy Carroll is worth £35m then Le Fondre has got to be worth half that.

He's English so we have to automatically thrown on another couple mill.

£19.5m or they can piss off!!!

On a serious note £8m!!

Never in a month of sundays.
I reckon £2m might be accepted, depends what his wages are. If we do have to sell him, can't see it being more than half of what we got for Long

Le Fondre ain't going to go anywhere until a new manager is in and has had a chance to assess what we have against the direction he wants to take us in.

Long did only have 1 year left on his deal, so we had to let him go for a little less. If it hadn't been for that I reckon we would've got at least £6mil for him.

Alfie is under contract to 2015, I believe. English players also come at a premium, so there is no chance we'd sell for £2mil.

If WBA do try this on then it will be a major test of AZ's intentions (given that we were told his arrival meant that we would no longer have to sell our best players in order to survive). Hopefully it is a test that he will pass and, in doing so, prove his doubters wrong.

The other thing to consider is that Alf is best used as a super sub this is likely to continue with whatever manager comes in. Does he rather sit on the bench of a premier league club or a champion ship club ???

I think if we were to go down, he'd become a regular starter for us now. His all round game is definitely good enough to be a starter in the Championship, just not quite cut out for the Premiership just yet. Still wouldn't stop a mid-table Premiership side coming in for him to use as an impact sub.

Here we go again.

Getting relegated and vultures start to circle and we usually can't do nowt about it.

Probably hate this most about going down.

This is what happens when teams get relegated...

Hopefully we'd get 3-4 million at least, but I wouldn't blame him for leaving us if we got relegated. He's a cracking player who wants to play at the top level.

Hopefully he doesn't leave, but if he did best of luck to him.

If the club has any sense, they will give him a moderate contract increase, as if we go down, he will (should) be one of the first picks. He is the 5th top English scorer in the prem, and has scored more than so called many 'names' from abroad. He will end up with 13/15 goals mostly from the bench in a struggling team.

As for the ALF V Long price debate, who has scored more this season?

If he gets back to the Prem he will do it with us...

The biggest issue here is if McD takes over another club such as Leeds or Leicester I can see him following

He likes the role of 'supersub' that much? Why would he follow McDermott when he has probably got a far better chance of a regular start and a far better supply chain under Adkins?

We weren't promised that. If a player wants to leave then there's little we can do, regardless of how much money the club has. If Alfie is restless and WBA offer an amount that we'd consider to be above his market value then we might sell. That's how every club in the whole wide world works.

I would be surprised to see him go, one purple patch coming from the bench wouldn't be enough for most prem teams to go for him. I can see a team that gets promoted this season possibly having a look at him.

Doubt it. McD prefers 4-4-2, but realised after half a dozen games that we can't play that formation with our squad in the premiership. If McD had stayed we'd have probably gone back to 4-4-2 next year, as that's what got us promoted last year under McD.
Adkins seems to go with 4-5-1/ 4-3-3 with more dynamic players.

I think Le Fondre's done enough to attract a bid from either an established premiership club (WBA) or one of the newly promoted sides.
He'd flourish in a top side with good, regular service.
