I agree with most of what has already been said.. Blackman isn't a Number 9 in a 4-4-2, he's been too ineffectual there such as Huddersfield when he played up top. But then I don't think he's that effective playing right wing either, being left footed he always seems to cut in and defenders seem to know this he will always try to use his left foot. Blackman is most effective in a 4-3-3 playing on the wing imo.. Brian has to find a way to fit him in this side as he's a player with genuine quality that we need!

Blackman's best position is as a right forward in the 4-3-3. End of.

He's fairly ineffective played as a striker in a 4-4-2 or up top by himself, and even less so when flung out hugging the line further back in midfield. His strength lies in his decent trickery and a good left foot. He's not good enough to consistently be a danger by beating multiple players coming from the right of midfield. He's not the strongest and his one-footedness combined with a certain amount of selfishness mean he's pretty ineffective with his back to goal as a striker.

The right forward/winger position is perfect for him because he's further up the field; he can cut in against minimal defence and isn't quite so restrained by defensive responsibilities.

In order of how we should play Blackman;

Rightforward/winger in a 4-3-3
Right striker in a 4-4-2
Not at all
Right winger/midfielder in a 4-4-2 etc

Blackman eventually scored but there were so many shots being blocked/tackles being made by the Bristol defence because he is so one footed. (This isn't the first time this season either, since October/Early November teams have been able to keep him quiet mainly because he is so one footed.

I personally think he needs to be moved around the forward line/left & right wings to add a bit of unpredictability to his game.

If he gambled with his right foot at times accepting it might not always come off instead of ALWAYS using his left, I wouldn't be surprised to see more goals added to his game instead of all these blocked shots.

We should go with the team/shape that won at Burnley. Robson-Kanu and Blackman up top together, but with John over Piazon on the left instead in an attacking 4-4-2.

I'll take a one footed player who eventually scores over any other player who doesn't any day.

Blackman has an attitude, perhaps he needs this to get that extra drive to succeed?

Some good news, Simon Cox is back from his loan spell, lets drop the hapless Blackman and give him a chance.

Kitson had that. Except he scored a lot of goals throughout his time here and he could pass the ball as well. Blackman should learn from that.
