brendywendy Hoop Blah For the record, I'm not saying we should've signed players by now.
All I'm disputing is the notion that nothing happens in June.
I also feel that we're not the most pro-active in the transfer market, and we suffer for it, but I'm well aware that we don't hear of most things the club are doing behind the scenes to actually bring players in. I'm purely judging it on what the powers that be are saying and our previous history of attracting players of a sufficient quality to continuiously improve our side.
and that reaLOLism is it?
I think so yes. I'm not screaming for signings now. I'm just pointing out that quite a few transfer do go through in June.
I also accept that we're not doing nothing. I do however have some reservations about how successful we are at bringing in players to improve the side and how successful we are at bringing in the players we target. It took us a hell of a long time to get in Fae, and Coppell himself admitted we wasted a lot of time and effort on Mensah when it then became apparent we stood no chance of getting him.
brendywendy i still think that our side has been improved by rosenior, bikey, and matejovski out of last years signings
we have bought very good players in every window for years, broken our transfer record every window except the last.
I agree those three add to the squad. Are they better than what was there previously? I'm not convinced yet, and it would appear Coppell isn't either, but I think all three will prove to be good signings in the future given a little bit of luck along the way. It's a shame that it took us to sign Halls, DLC and Halford before we found a right back to push Murty out of the team (which Rosenoir hasn't yet but I'm sure he will).
brendywendy im very happy with the way my club does its business
im not saying y'all cant panic if you want to-personally i couldnt care less what you bunch of doom mongers are doing.
I agree, I like the way we go about our business out of the media glare, although the Lita, Halford, Fae and Mensah deals were harldy under wraps were they? We show a lot more decorum than most though, and I like that.
I just wish we were a little better at it thats all. We've spent £5m on two players who haven't really featured for the side before being shipped out at the soonest opportunity. Our previous two record signings have both contributed to the success of the club but both have soon wanted out, and neither would've been in our managers strongest XI last season. One was booted out leaving us no winger and the other, a centre forward, loaned out to apparently get him away from the squad despite the fact we couldn't buy a goal.
brendywendy i just reckon we are doing deals, and working towards getting a list of targets that has been agreed.
nothing will happen until we off load our players that want out-not because of our management-but generally the prem clubs wont do much till after the championships
happens every two years-
and since we are looking to sell to prem clubs-they dictate the time scale not us.
Yep, it's a trickle down effect. Until Chelsea start to spend the money and the rest follow suit we'll be left hanging on.
I'm not worried yet, I just don't have a lot of faith in our transfer dealings because of the recent track record.
brendywendy agree with fezza-i am worried that if its left too late it could well hamper our start to the season
but we do have a way to go till the sweden trip-
what can i say, its in my nature to be positive
Believe it or not, so am I, apart from where I can see obvious reasons not to be !!!
