On Saturday against Villa I definitely detected the same sort of crowd reaction when he got the ball to a certain Basir Savage!

A sort of - 'are we about to see a moment of brilliance......maybe not this time'

If you repeat a mantra enough times you begin to believe it yourself. It is this kind of thing which forms the basis of nutty religious cults.....and they are still based on more logic than the average RFC RTG applies.

Personally, I think that Jimmy Kebe is a street-smart fish-out-of-water in a world he never made.

The important thing about Kebe is when he does attack, will he be able to stay upright and keep control of the ball. That's what I have my doubts over.

Against most of the left backs in the Championship he will be too quick so it will just need to punt past them and run. He will do well.

It's when you come up against Premiership defenders who can match the pace he will struggle, but hopefully come next August his game will have moved on a bit and he will be OK.

He did alright on Saturday.

except for his final ball which had me ducking from time to time.

Convey was about as hit or miss so I won't hold it against Kebe.

He will score both our goals in our 2-1 victory over Forest on Sunday. Come on Kebe.

Convey was about as hit or miss so I won't hold it against Kebe.

And look how effective Convey was last time we were in this division.

Kebe has pace and that alone is normally enough to scare defenders. All he has to do is remember to take the ball with him.

really want him to succeed-just to shut the doubters up

and im probably letting that colour my opinion

but kebe has definately been the main plus of preseason alongside karacan
and does look a massive improvement on the nervous bambi we saw in his couple of games last season

Ian Royal Oster was a better player who never produced and just didn't seem to want to attack much. I think Kebe will be more effective because he is keen to make attacking runs and take players on.

The important thing about Kebe is when he does attack, will he be able to stay upright and keep control of the ball. That's what I have my doubts over.

ALOL @ having doubts over a professional footballer not being able to stand upright when trying to run with the ball.

Kebe will score at least 1 sensational goal this season and i can imagine him becoming a bit of a cult hero.

Again against Villa he showed he cannot cross the ball.

A pretty crucial attribute for a winger imo.

I can't believe there's not 1 single player out there we could get that is better.

Sure he might come good, but we shouldn't be depending on it.

If Kebe doesn't come good, we're fcuked for a right winger.

i agree, and preferably id like him to be our back up winger
but i dont think its going to happen.

actually he got some decent balls into the box vs villa
no one was near them at the time but thats just the randomness of football
on another day they may have connected with someones boot as they flew into the box, scoring in the top right hand corner.

He's already become a bit of a cult hero hasn't he? I reckon I'm one or two heavy drinking binges away from ordering the new away kit with Kebe on the back.
I should not be allowed on the internet when I'm drunk.

Why change the habit of the last year? 8) We've gone for the mirror approach by fcuking over the left side too.

Can't be as bad as the lad with the black and grey away shirt with 'Halls 14' on the back.

But why's it not gonna happen?

That's what I don't get.

The money is there (as it was last year), why not buy a right winger? Ok, Kebe could prove himself to be better than who we sign, but that would be great.

We've got no financial worries, we don't have a massive squad anymore. Competition was the key to record breaking team. Little played as well as he did that year, in part to having Oster pushing, ditto Convey with Hunt, the full backs with Makin. Surely that's what we should be looking to do now.....
