With Forest signing another striker I'd like to see Reading try and re -sign Tyson who is a much improved striker than when he was last here and i think he'd jump at the chance. The forward line is too inexperienced and too inconsistant as it currently stands to be any better than a lower end of the table side. Especially with some of the teams in the league splashing the cash + of course the 3 teams coming down who are all stronger than the previous years relegated teams.

I am all for the youth being given a go but it has to be a balance and at the minute we are way off having the right balance. I would really ideally like rodgers to step his game up in the hunt for new players because we still lack a decent winger, forwards I've already mentioned and as it stands we have bugger all defensively.

Reading going into the season with this current squad I think you can honestly forget about a top 6 place.

do you really think with requirement of a new striker tyson fits the bill? i mean that in terms of what we already have i would of thought tyson would be better left wing as opposed to an out and out striker

That team is truly shocking and would get rinsed down the middle of the park, plus it offers very little going forward.

If we managed to get Taarabt and Smith, this would be my starting point, although I'd probably rotate the attacking 3 behind N Hunt depending on fitness and form, etc as I think all would do a good job and at this point I don't think there's too much to pick behind them - we'd certainly have a lot of pace and creativity in the squad.

Tabb is not a left winger at all. He's shown that his position is centre mid and the coventry fans that i've spoken to have all said he's best as a centre mid. Having matejovsky as a DM is pretty poor too. He cant tackle and doesnt have that kind of energy or strength that cisse, gunnarsson or tabb would provide in there. Interesting that you've put long just behind church there. He would frighten the defenders with his pace but i coudnt see him making any intelligent passes or keeping hold of the ball for long either.

Agree with this. The way Rodgers seems to be setting them out, Tabb is a natural for the left-sided 'holding' central midfield role, if you will. I had Harps in there with him, but on reflection maybe it would be one or t'other with Kara or Gunnar on the right hand side. Marek would play in the advance central role (or Sigurdsson, or maybe even Davies) and Henry/Robson-Kanu and Kebe/SHunt (or A N other/s) either side of Church, N Hunt or Long.

Although I'm confident with us at the back and in midfield I'm very worried about us going forward and we HAVE to sign someone quickly. What pisses me off is when Sheff Utd are close to signing Ched Evans for a portion of the money they received for their centre backs whilst we are not prepared to so the same with the Doyle/Smith situation and we (Not them) still have parachute payments.

Cisse has actually played at centreback though, more than once. And well in most of those appearances.

As a stop gap if all subs are used and there has been a plague of biblical proportions but as a first choice? I am happy to be proven wrong but I can not think of ay occasion when he has played well in that position. He is a midfielder not a cd.
