Hyundai Coupe good win, but friendlies count for nowt. Win when it matters.

not if they get you $2m they don't. THey're also pretty good for fitness and form.

But thanks, we will do our fair share of winning when it matters I'm sure. Forgive me if I don't reciprocate the same sentiments to your club.

From a French biased perspective if anyone hasn't seen much of the game, which I hadn't.

It would appear once again that our players are a credit to the club and it's pleasing to hear stories such as Hiro's. Lyon are a very decent side indeed and to beat them (albeit in a 'friendly') is very encouraging indeed.

I'm actually over the moon with the performance and the result. At a time where neither really matters, to get both is a real bonus.

Bikey MOTM without a doubt. I think Coppell's got a real bargain here, he just seems to be getting better and better, and hes coping brilliant against some top strikers. Considering his age, there is no reason why Bikey can't become a top player if he continues to improve the way he is doing. IMO he should be our 1st choice centre back in this form.

Cisse showed some good touches, still looks a little unfit (even though its expected at this stage) and he probably will take a while to fit in right, but he appears to have a good deal of potential.

The youngsters (Golbourne and Cox) also really impressed me, both had good technique and played with real maturity against some top opposition, and it wouldn't suprise me if they were to break into the first team at some stage this season.

Shane Long also impressed me, hes looking more comfortable with the ball and hopefully he can push on and win a starting place with Doyle, as I think they do work well together.

All in all no-one really had a bad game, and its assured me that we do have enough quality and depth already in the squad and any other signings will be a bonus.

Funny, weren't you saying you couldn't care less about the river game?

When reading win it matters, when we loose it doesn't.

Isn't that the only sensible approach to adopt to football ?

I gave up getting down over defeats years ago....

why do so many posters on here not know the difference between lose and loose? lose=to be defeated, loose= opposite to tight

Not sure if mentioned but Cisse picked up a calf injury but apparently not too serious.
