What's cringeworthy is the apathy tbh. 8 straight defeats and we can't understand why people might invade the pitch for the manager to go!?

Charlton fans put up with six months of total ownership limbo before a peaceful protest that blocked the club's boardroom, and that follows years of bullshit from Roland Duchatelet during which time they've barely survived as a club. Derby fans have protested against the board outside of Pride Park. Other examples of club supporters' groups leading peaceful pre-game protests against ownerships and trying to force change.

And we're running on the pitch because we've lost a few games.

Classless and pathetic.

come off it dude dont taint everyone with the same brush. you're old enough and wise enough to know every club has a few meatheads. was always going to happen with a bumper crowd, i bet half of them don't even attend games on a regular basis. Same as that pudding fella against bradford in the fa cup QF

Bit worried they haven't announced it yet, would have thought it would have been very first thing this morning if at all.

Sure, there's always this type of fan at a football club - my post was more a response to Millsy's assertion 'well of course fans went on the pitch'. Err, no. We just lost a few football matches. It is silly, entitled stuff - although I guess what we are getting to now is a generation of fans who have only ever known us as a Championship/PL club.

And look at them... ex top flight side now lower pretty much than they've ever been. They deserve it.

We won't copy them.

Charlton fans deserve League One obscurity because they got taken over by an arsehole? Wow.

looking at the average age o the supporters in the pictures i would suggest that these lot were of an age where they should remember our div 2 years. most looked to be in their late 30's to 40's

Judging by that picture they were simply protesting that the 150 years anniversary shirt had sold out in the megastore (not a single replica Reading shirt in sight).

Edit - on second thoughts they did have XXXL sizes left

If they are the thing that led to the owner sacking the manager then they are heroes and we should all thank them. They are club legends.

Had the owners acted after the Fulham game and removed Pauno all this toxicity would have been avoided. They have made such a mess of this.
As for Pauno (assuming he goes today) if we end up staying up then I believe his time in charge will be looked upon in a much kinder light in the years that follow.

He was dealt the worst hand of any Reading manager in my lifetime.

Sorry but "we just lost a few football matches" is reductive. We have "just lost a few football matches" many times before and no one felt the need to invade. But the huge Harriers defeat, the huge Fulham home defeat, 8 defeats in a row, a man who has lost the dressing room leading us into freefall and a certain drop to league one. If you can't see the reason they felt the need to risk a ban and think what has been going on is just a few defeats then I really cannot comment further!

There's nothing wrong with a generation of fans who see us as a Champ/PL club btw. It's fans (like me btw) who saw us languishing in the third tier for years who shouldn't be holding back aspirations of the newer lot.

For the record, I didn't invade and I absolutely wouldn't and I do understand some of your thoughts. But I totally understand their protest and give it my blessing. Thanks to them we might be seeing Pauno go. If it was left to those who find this sort of thing cringeworthy, we would soon find ourselves in League One "where we belong", as I'm sure another generation of fans unhelpfully and wrongly believes.
